OT - Houston Rockets

44-37 at the half. That’s probably one of the lowest half time scores of the last decade lol

I still get frustrated with their turnovers, but that defense has turned around 100%.

Man, GS just straight-up owns the Rockets.

LOL - reverse jinx worked. First win against GS in 16 tries.

Rockets finally won a meaningful game against the Warriors!

An all time dumbest shot by Curry. Rockets end 5 year drought to the Warriors.

Man, Kerr was SALTY after the game.

I get it - losing it on a loose ball foul like that kind of sucks. But buh-bye.

Kerr can kick rocks the Warriors entire dynasty has been based on them getting away with moving screens.

Pretty competitive game.

Very impressed with how far the Rockets have come under Ime. Unfortunately this game is showing what we lack and that’s a closer. SGA is cold blooded. Wish we had him.

Terrible shooting and too many defensive lapses to make up for it.

Don’t follow pro sports (MUCH) therefore question for you - has Reed Shepherd been a flop to this point?

Typical rookie I would say.

It is really hard for rookies in the NBA. Practice time is limited and every guy on every roster is the best player on their college team.

Jalen Green is just now becoming an upper level NBA player and he has generational offensive skills. I don’t know that I have seen someone faster to the basket. But really till now he has been hit or miss.

Give him some time.

You asked a similar question about Amen a couple weeks into last season. I told you there was nothing to worry about and it was way too early. No one is wondering about him being a bust, just about how good he will be.

Reed is struggling now but that doesn’t mean he is a flop. He is struggling to find his rhythm having to adjust to fewer minutes and a smaller role.

Personally I think it is past time to let him play in the G league and score over 20 a game for a few weeks. He is missing shots he has probably never missed.

He may be one of those we just give him that first year to learn without the expectation of putting up big numbers and see what year two brings. From what I hear is he is consistently one of the top players in practice and the Rockets really like him

Really impressed by these young Rockets.

Agreed.

And it’s not just one guy.

Each game it seems to be someone different that steps up.

When Tari is healthy and on the court is when they are at their best.

The vets that have brought in have been ideal.
Amen already really good has a chance to be great if he keeps developing his shot.

Jabari I had some concerns with earlier this season. I am not sure will ever be an all star but has developed and matured this season.

Alpi is now a two way player. He was a terrible liability on defense last season, but not anymore.

Tari was the steal of the draft. A warrior on the court with legit handles and shooting.

Cam for the second straight season the steal of the draft. Already has the physical tools just needs to keep developing his mental game and learn how to play with his team.
Since coming up 4 games ago he has found his shot and making better decisions.

Green I have concerns about what he really wants more, the lifestyle or getting better. Last night’s version looks like a future star and then there is the guy who takes the 8-9th most shots, grabs 2 rebds and doesn’t even get to finish games.

Reed TBD but has impressed everywhere but the games.

Tate should be included too. A guy who also makes the defense better and can do a little bit of everything.

All in all I think this is a really good take….you never know what it’s like behind the scenes but everyone seems to be okay with their role.

My big question is what’s next?

Is this team good enough to get to that Championship level just by maturing and playing more together?

Or

Does this team “need” one more guy?

I don’t mean some aging vet like Butler but one more guy that would truly take them up another notch?

If so, who? Or what position?

I think they are good enough to compete with what is currently in the west but still lack a superstar to make a jump to championship level. The hope was Green would be that guy but he isn’t there.
I am not happy at all with Stone for giving away the gold mine of future the Nets gifted us.

I don’t know that it matters what position just that we need a superstar. Our roster is versatile enough I believe they could work with a SS big to a point.

One thought I have had is possibly taking a gamble on Zion if we think we can keep him healthy. Though I am not unloading the farm for him.
