One of the best American bands of All-Time

LCD?

I haven’t listened to a full Journey album from the pre Steve Perry days. I have heard a few songs on streaming and really liked them.

I thought about it, but I’m 65 with health issues. I don’t think I could handle the heat. Did you know Ian Gillan is 79, Glover is 78, and Paice is 76? I never dreamed when I saw them in 1985 that they would be coming back around when they were all pushing 80. But they’ve actually put out some decent stuff the past ten or so years. Now What?! has some really good songs.

After thinking about it Toni Basil was the greatest band of all time. But I get yall’s point.

I thought about going to this show. I’ve seen Yes twice and loved both shows. Yes without Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman just isn’t Yes (in my mind).

I’ve never seen Deep Purple, but I got burned seeing aging rockers and walked away very disappointed. I saw Jethro Tull a handful of years ago at the Smart Financial Center. Ian Anderson’s voice just wasn’t there. The musicianship was amazing, but the voice
not so much. Unfortunately, that’s going to be my last memory of Tull.

I don’t want to feel that way with either of these 2 bands.

Enjoyed the STP / +LIVE+ / Soul Asylum concert at Cynthia Mitchell Pavilion on Thursday night. It was hot and humid, but WTH, it’s August.

Soul Asylum played a seven song set, with Runaway Train being the crowd favorite.

+LIVE+ didn’t disappoint. With a library of popular hit songs how could they go wrong. They were the primary reason I wanted to attend the concert.

STP was dynamic from start to finish. So many hit songs mainly from the Purple album. Loved every minute.

Long drive home, but left the concert with another good rock concert memory.

Next up, Weezer on September 28 at Toyota Center and thank goodness, air conditioning.
