An explanation could likely mean BYU has a lot of players that are sophomores and juniors, so it’s possible BYU could have a great 2026 class

Dana plugged a lot of holes with transfers, and Fritz had to replace players that left after Dana was fired for the 2024 season

2025 is essentially the first real class for Fritz

We lose a lot of seniors that get PT right now. Team will look much different next year

Which is crazy because '24 is among the best we’ve had in recent memory.

If I’m not mistaken, it is the best we have ever had

Ed Oliver skewed the 2016 class quite a bit, but overall I think 2025 is our best class overall

Well, best in the Internet Age. In 1977 we had the 3rd ranked national class.

Our 1973 class was best in the state at a time when Texas was regularly signing top five national classes. We were also national top 20 in 1980 and 1981.

But, I thought that “the ship has sailed?”

I don’t think the classes will be a problem going forward. If he can sell the rebuild, imagine after we start winning!

This is great news!

Wow, number 4…Thats great!!

Wow, that’s a pleasant change. So, the ship :ship: hasn’t sailed on this recruiting cycle?

It’s early but this list is reflective of the strong NIL markets in the Big 12.

Top
Dallas/ Ft. Worth
Orlando
Waco- Texas Triangle
Houston

Bottom
Aimes, Iowa
Lawrence, Kansas
Boulder, Colorado
Provo, Utah

I do expect BYU to move up because they have “rich alums” and i also expect Cincinnati to climb up because they are in a bigger market and possibly Colorado/ Arizona depending on how much they rely on opportunities in Denver and Phoenix.

Texas Tech is probably doing well because of the NIL donation bucket and not the market opportunity bucket so look for them to fall.

There is a reason why small market long tenured coaches, like Saban (Alabama) and Gundy (Oklahoma State) HATE NIL …it takes away their advantage and favors the big market schools…long term

We are witnessing the greatest shift in the college football hierarchy right before our eyes and the good news is that it favors big market P4 schools!

That BYU is last on this list speaks to how accurate/important lists like these are.

With the NIL rules, I am waiting for the day the Ivy League rejoins the FBS and we see Princeton win the National Championship in football.

But would they lower their entrance requirements to get the best players in?

NIL or not, Princeton and Ivy Leagues are going to have the same struggles that Rice and Stanford have

They don’t have alums that care enough about football anymore, and their admissions standards are way too high

Four of the top five are Texas schools.

Yep.

It’s why I think the Big Ten will eventually gun for a south team.

If not TAMU, then it will be whichever Texas-based P4 school gets AAU first
