Love boxing, track, swimming, beach volleyball ball, swimming and that’s probably about it.

Excited the games are here.

Watching women’s water polo now. What a brutal sport, I would drown before the first time out.

Lots of commercials so far.

Pretty good basketball game between Greece and Canada.

Men and women have won in soccer.

At another time, had a choice between watching road cycling time trials in the rain or Apee (Epee?) fencing.

I think Olympic fencing has now given golf a serious challenge as to being the most boring sport to watch on planet Earth.

Haven’t watched any of it

I watched hours of it Friday and yesterday. Basketball, soccer, rugby, table tennis, badminton, surfing, swimming, beach volleyball. Tons of great, exciting action… and then there’s fencing. :man_shrugging:t3:

Have they ever considered adding a “machete” fencing competition? That, I would watch.

Amish Rake Fighting would be something to see.

Watched some of the swimming, gymnastics, and basketball. Planning on watching some of the tennis later.

A little schmaltzy, but one of the reason I love the Olympics is it gives exposure to those athletes in the minor and under appreciated Olympic sports a stage. The sheer joy they exhibit in winning or just competing validates, for them, all they have sacrificed to get there.
Love watching.

What a great run. Only US medal in 10K in the last 60 years. I may have heard wrong, but I think they said 13 runners beat the Olympic record in this event. Least boring 10K I have ever seen.

I’ve watched some swimming and gymnastics here and there. I’ll check in on the track events when I have free time. The 10k today was amazing. But overall my interest has waned as boxing has faded into the background as an Olympic sport. We had eight boxers in France, 4 men and 4 women. Two of the guys are from the Houston area but both of them are out. All four of the women are eliminated now. The two remaining men have matches tomorrow.

How about Louie Hinchliffe and Shaun Maswanganyi pushing Noah Lyles in the 100m prelims?!?!!!

Louie wins the heat in 9.97, Lyles just beat Shaun at the line to take second, and Shaun in 3rd.

I’ve got to find a shot of Louie and Shaun flashing their Cougar Paws. You know Carl Lewis was swelling with pride!

Edit: Just now watching replays from the morning. Enjoying the prelim qualification rounds, where you get to see the fastest man from Tajikistan face off against the best from Hong Kong and Timor-Leste. Not the fastest times but cool that they get the chance to advance.

BTW, the Timor-Leste runner set a national record this morning with his 11.35 100m dash! Tongan sprinter sets a PB at the Olympics with a time of 12.11! Not making fun, because again, they’re Olympians and I’m on my couch. This is why I love the Olympics.

Bronze to Fisher in 5k as well.

This is the T&F Olympics performance USA should have had in Tokyo. USA T&F has been stacked for over 5 yrs or so

Jamaicans were a generational class on the women’s and men’s sides in the past few Olympics. I have my suspicions… they were no shows this year.
