No need to sugarcoat anything. The offense was embarrassing. And when they weren’t embarrassing, they were inept. And when they weren’t inept, they were getting penalized.
Smith struggled again, and to my eyes, showed no improvement. The plays Chriss is given to run are simple, almost comically simple. Very little passing with Chriss. The one Chriss pass that stood out was in the first half, Chriss was not under pressure and the receiver was wide open around midfield, and Chriss bounced the pass in to him. Chriss did have a nice run, but he is not ready to be a starting QB at this level.
Just like the John Lennon song “Give Peace a Chance”, lets “Give Ale a Chance”.
Why did it not make any sense? They are in our conference now and the conference make the conference schedules. You can’t be in a conference and choose not to play another conference team.
Last two games. 0 points, 164 yards passing (72 & 92).
It is almost impossible to accomplish that level of ineptitude. This isn’t acceptable, this is way worse than a coach going 8-4 which Renu says we fire people for.
Holgerson excused the loss to K state (I think) last year because it didnt make sense to the players to play them. Games against Baylor etc makes sense because of Texas ties for something like that
I’m a little worried about losing defensive players at season’s end.I think if we could have scored a few times our defense could have run the fourth on guts. But who can play a top twenty team four quarters and holding them at 10 points knowing your side can’t score?
The fewest points UH has ever scored in a season is 96 in 1947 (11 games), The lowest in the modern era is 115 in 11 games in 1994. This offense is on pace to break the 94 teams 10.5 ppg

DS played much better than Zeon. ZC is not the answer at all, we can all see why the coaching staff didn’t trust him. I think the play calling is killing the offense, the Oline looks better this season, less sacks already plus we are consistently rushing for over 100 yard every game. That’s why our defense looks better since they aren’t on the field the entire game like last season. I agree that if we can fix this offense then we’ll win. When we passed the ball consecutively in the 4th, it looked good since it was unpredictable. That type of play calling is where UH can be successful (short passes, occasional deep passes, and running with the QB when the defense is unbalanced). We need more deception and trickery, it worked for Mew’s play in the game. We to have roll with DS for the rest of the season now, don’t have time to bled anyone in.
