I applaud Hubert for that. The NIT is a waste of time for a program like UNC. None of those kids are motivated for that.

I don’t know the rules about formal practices in the off-season, but if you pass on any post-season games you are definitely passing on those allowable practices a lot of which would seem to benefit next year’s returners especially redshirts, freshman, and sophs.
I think it’s a pretty douchy ahole thing to do. Like what you would expect of Whorn.

I think the opposite….I think it’s chicken sh:t.
Hubert and his staff underwhelmed from their end of it….there was enough talent on that team to be in the tournament……so because you are pissed that your season didn’t go the way you wanted it to you are gonna take your ball and go home.
The NIT is not a “ waste of time”. It’s not a waste of time for all the players that busted their a$$ all season….I guarantee you those players want to play.
I could see it if it were the CBI, but the NIT is still a respectable tournament……let’s not act so high and mighty….there was a time not so long ago we would have been thrilled to be invited to the NIT.
I personally think the guy is aftaid of losing in the NIT……that last part of his statement is a pure cop out……IMHO.

i agree totally with your premise…but it could definitely possible that most of the players were ok with not participating.
