Look I wouldn’t doubt that a school like Stanford is already trying to figure out their pathway forward as is every other relevant ACC school, but this rumor is some salad
Ivy League isn’t P4 by choice. They’ve said as much on several occasions.
Depends if Stanford allows Prop 48 players like all the big football teams. Otherwise they’re toast in the big game hunts
Thought you’d find this interesting. I know a couple of guys from that team that live in Houston.

A permanent reduced rate. So they sit at the kids table forevermore.
That would be ridiculous for them to do that.
A permanently reduced Big 10 share could still be more than ACC or Big 12 gets…Stanford is rich, they dont care about money, they just want the best affiliation they can get…Their PAC league completely fell apart and now ACC is having terrible problems too.
My opinion is realignment involving the SEC and BIG is over until 2031 or thereabouts. Done, Kaput.
Stanford adds nothing to Fox’s bottom line.
So, no invitations in hand for Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina & Virginia?
No. They do not have invitations.
Any invitation, if it happens will be after the BIG and SEC deals comes up for renewal, say in 2031.
Florida State and Clemson are litigating their exit terms now, knowing that it could take years before their suits work their way threw courts.
They want to ensure where they’ve completely and irrevocably extricated themselves from the ACC by the time BIG and SEC go to the media partners.
ESPN has the right to unilaterally withdraw from the ACC’s TV contract as soon as 2027.
So, in another installment of absolute bullsh a poddy theorizes Stanford to B10 to get ND.
I won’t listen but my only question is: what did the ND prez say when interviewed and asked this question?
ND was very influential in moving Stanford to the ACC.
Don’t underestimate the power of that duo as a package deal.
If NDs ultimatum to the B1G is YES we will join but only if Stanford comes with us, they will add both similar to how they let UCLA tag along with USC
The big10 chasing Notre Dame? Why don’t we have Andy dedicate this song to law?
I have not heard a better version of it.
No one knows WHAT FSU and Clemson have in the way of offers, so dont talk like you know, because you dont…
Notre Dame HATES the BIG and will never join…EVER…They have made it abundantly clear exactly why for decades…
This.
Also, as Michigan is learning, academics still count for something. You have to be able to get accepted into your new school. If you are not able to meet the academic requirements then you can’t go. While Stanford, ND, GaTech can reduce some of the requirements to get into their schools for athletes, musicians and such, it can completely ignore them.
So some guy with a 2.3 GPA and a 980 SAT is not getting into these schools regardless of what they run in the 40. Heck, even a 3.1 and 1100 may have a problem. I think some of these schools were able to use the COVID Pandemic to get players that otherwise could not have gotten in; Michigan definitely comes to mind. For those with college age kids, a lot of schools had “test optional” admissions policies during 2020 through 2023. I bet dollars to donuts that helped a lot of players who otherwise would not have been able to go to Michigan get in. Why Stanford could not take advantage? They had the same policy; could be that they chose not to, or, more likely they still could not get players because they are not considered a hot bed. Also, people do need to take into account the fact that it is far away; some kid from rural GA or you can the Atlanta burbs probably doesn’t want to go all the way to Palo Alto. Heck my son went to HS with a top QB recruit who received an offer from Stanford; he decided to go to Bama because he did not want to go play in CA. I think it was a mistake, but hey who am I to say otherwise.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Harbaugh left just as all those temporary changes event away.
Being test optional, the prospective student still has to have solid grades, actually even better than what the scores would have suggested. How good were your son’s QB’s grades? I assume they were solid but not otherwise Stanford worthy, like top 1%.
Good question.
So my son said that he had a few classes with the guy; he wasn’t dumb, but not particularly smart. I will say that apparently he was a fifth year HS (not sure how that is a thing but apparently it is in GA). So take that for what its worth.
The guy ended up at Bama.
It is this young man:
Stanford’s campus is awesome… Tuscaloosa not awesome…
I’ll take Palo Alto ALL DAY!
