Francis is a role player, and because he is not an offensive threat, you can’t play him when you are down trying to make up a deficit.
Mercy needs to be one of the first off the bench, because when the bench comes in its a whole lot of “what do I do” going on. Let him grow with the game, but coach feels indifferent. Apparently all freshman have to be hazed into cougar style basketball until they are ready.

Sharp also needs to work on creating his own shot. Right now, its mostly a spot up jumper.

Wilson, walker, and jojo will be nearly the same come march. I dont see how they could make any leaps

You don’t see how Jojo could make a jump? He’s a sophomore. Kids hardly a finished project. He’s probably got the most room for growth on the entire team.

I always hear from reporters saying how organized and disciplined we look during our practices. But at the end of every big game we look ragtag running around and can’t get our hands on the ball, bad passes, bad shots. It’s always the same look.

Yeah thats the one from my comment I feel a little offput by typing, but he lacks so much fundamentals on offense, everything from setting screens, to just being in the right position

If Jamal had the rock last yr, he attacks the rim. But LJ doesnt have that ability to get to the rim.

I agree. Hell even if you just put Sharp out there for OT, it would’ve made a big difference in the kind of looks LJ would’ve gotten.

The hope for the team is that Mercy, TA, and Jojo all become much more polished late in the season. Also fingers crossed that some of Francis’ struggles are health related and that he gets 100%.

Yes, Sampson said just recently in an interview that neither Francis or TA are fully healthy, not to mention, Tugler missed something like 9 months. Apparently, TA missed practice after last Fridays game because his Achilles was so sore.
All of these guys will get better throughout the course of the season.
