I’m surprised to not have heard him mention anything about the Coogs?
Probably still recovering from heart surgery
Ahh I hope he is doing well.
His loosing his ars in the stock market.
We all are lol
The Gallery Furniture Post Oak location is closing.
Really?!
He had recently announced his retirement because of heart surgery. I guess he wants to enjoy the rest of his life without a lot of pressure.
He’s got a tough daughter to run things, right.
It’s just on paper unless you sell. Stay disciplined and hang in there and by the end of the year you will be doing OK.
Jim McIngvale is a great one and truly is one of a kind. Epitomizes Houston, imo.
True story:
About 30-40 years ago, my mom walked into Gallery Furniture asking where to find the crazy man who jumps up and down on television. Mack walks up and tells her “Ma’am, I’m the crazy man who jumps up and down”.
If you’ve ever met my mom, you’d understand.
I worked for mattresses Mack as an Aggie intern in 2011-2012.
Great dude from what I could tell. Even provided my whole family tickets to the gallery furniture suite for a bowl game at NRG. Met a lot of personalities and high up officials from A&M. RC Slocum, dean of the business school and Incoming head coach Kevin Sumlin were all hanging around the suite.
Where did you see him announce retirement?
“red80 Mike Higdon”
The voice of reason . . . . .
Check the date. He posted this after.
OMG! He got me. Look at the date of his retirement post.
Mack is a very genuine guy. I’ve been to GF several times and always seen him working at the front desk and taking calls. One time he walked over and told us to let him know if we needed anything. How many in his position do that? Not many. One of a few reasons I bought a mattress from him a few years ago. He also called me the day after to ask how everything was. Amazing.
I think he has a new Astros bet tho!
