“Kyle is an extremely solid person. He’s very intelligent and understands what he wants out of his career,” Applewhite said. "He understood when he made the switch from A&M to the University of Houston that it was for coaching reasons and offensive reasons. But at the same time, he’s fallen in love with this university while he’s been here.
“He’s got goals and aspirations to play in the NFL. I don’t think it’s a situation that is tied to a coach. I think he’s tied to a dream.”
At his introductory news conference, coach Major Applewhite said the Cougars would be “innovating and a little unique” and offer “an exciting brand of football.” Just don’t expect to see many tweaks in Saturday’s game against San Diego State
