The four highest-ranked conference champions will receive first-round byes.
Big 12 champ is currently lower rated than Boise so we’d get a commensurate seeding of #12.

So the cfp is telling us that Boise State (great program) losing by three points in their second game against Oregon is better than ASU that has beaten three ranked teams? This is telling me the cfp is not going to give the BIG12 more than one team if our conference Champion has two losses. The question has to be asked if the BIG12 Champion with one loss will rate higher than an undefeated G5? The acc has two teams with Miami having a bye and these two acc teams have one loss each…Why ask why?
Big 12 doesn’t even get an automatic bid.
Automatic bid goes to the 5 highest ranked Conference Champions (regardless if it is a P or G Conference)
4 highest ranked Auto- Bid Champions get the bye

If Big 12 teams keep beating up on each other this week and next week, theres a chance Tulane could leapfrog the Big 12 Champion if they win out.

Boise barely escaped Wyoming last week in Laramie 17-13. Needed a late 4th quarter TD for comeback win.
Arizona State and BYU both played WYO this year. They won by a combined 61 points.

It would be really nice if, in a few years, UH would be on that board.
Hopefully, Fritz and Co. can make that happen.
My son went to Tennessee- that matchup against UGA wouldn’t be great, for sure, but at least the Vols would be in the playoff.
Hence your BIG12 posts from earlier in the year. This does not bode well for the BIG12. Who is to say Tennessee should get a higher seed in the cfp than ASU?

Ok , everyone relax and stop being over dramatic, Five conference champions are guaranteed a spot. The big12 champ will be in the playoffs.
Only question is whether the big12 champ will receive the bye over Boise State.
UNLV, in my opinion, will beat Boise St. in the conference championship game.

Yeah…I literally received hateful DMs for reminding people that we want Colorado winning their OOC games= increased likelihood the Big 12 secures a Playoff spot= more money for the University of Houston.

Would Boise win the Big 12? I don’t think so. They benefit from playing in the MWC. I don’t care about their one almost win against Oregon. They lost. UH never got rewarded back in the CUSA days for almost winning games. The Big 12 isn’t trash. It’s competitive. All this is, is the committee’s chance to push the narrative for their two favorite, overrated conferences.
If the playoffs were today, we still wouldn’t make it.
