At 925 mb pressure , that would make it the 4th most powerful storm ever to hit the US.

This thing is incredible. Wow

This level of energy is incredibly hard to maintain that’s the good nees, bad news the surface level (ocean/surge) intensity is going to remain even if the projected shear weakens the wind speeds. It’s going to be a monster making landfall

Hoo-wee! Time to batten down the hatches.

Levi Cowan’s “Tropical Tidbits” is a fantastic informational source for understanding hurricane behavior. I highly recommend watching his analysis of Milton.

So just a trying fascinating image of Milton. Which did at the record for rapid intensification from discussion to cat 5 in 46 hours. This all lightning.

In Tampa. spared direct but in the thick of it.
4 Canes in 13 months.
Already a little rough.

@ Ft Meyers now.

I was at Ft Meyers for Mets Spring Training.
No rubble but large paths already empty and will never be rebuilt.

Helene running up coast kept cell going.
Power and probably cell down for days w this bad Mfer.

A small thing:
Makes me sick when people at the bar, etc make fun of these deaf interpreters.
Its not same words without certain face and body movements.

I just remember people were making fun of the giant traffic jam out of Houston when Rita was coming. Well, looks like we aren’t alone.

Got one friend hunkering down in Fort Myers and another in North Tampa area.

Going to a be a wild ride.

In Fort Meyers ? How far from the H20 cause that is not good.

North Tampa nothing nice & no power for days but should be fine.

I-75 hauling now. Maybe an hour or 2 and nobody is leaving.

Pier 60 @ 2 miles from me. Horrible here but it will pass.

Thanks for the quick follow up. MUCH better. Volunteers door 2 door and begging people by the H20.

A good follow.

He’s about 5-6 miles SW of the Fort Myers international airport. South of Alico Rd, in between Hwy 41 and I-75
