“Houston is one of the most underrated teams in the Country” KSU Coach Jerome Tang

Just need the guy who wants to and can take and make the shot at the end. I still think it could be TA as he has elite skills getting to the basket and an improving outside shot.

I would love he comeback so he can get some floor time and be ready for the off season. If he has a miraculous return to full time I have no expectations with him being in the rotation.

Lmao it took Javier 3 months of constant playing time to get where he’s at in playing shape. What are we expecting out of someone who is coming off an injury that required surgery!!!

NET has us #3. AP #12. CBS Sports #21.

I definitely think CBS is way low. NET may be too high although we could get to be that good. #12 is probably a little low if we can get the NR amd low voters to come around

Walker will be back in a few weeks and serve as our insurance policy.

Plus, the Big 12 seems to have taken a huge step back this year.

Last year, the TCU, KSU & BYU games were not this easy

Well, we’re better defensively than last year, so that’s part of it.

I am not sure that the media is always right about which is the best bb conference. Last couple of years it was the Big XII, but it didn’t perform very well in March Madness. I also thnk the COOGS are one of the best 5 teams because our point guard is getting comfortable with his teammates, coaches and culture!

I would love to insert Wilson’s offensive aggressiveness and shot-making confidence in Arceneaux’s game. Arceneaux still plays like a role player and he has too much talent to limit himself.

I think what he was saying was we are not getting a lot of attention in the current state due to having 3 losses early and dropping to 17th with a 4-3 record.

We are flying under the radar. In some media platforms.

This is part of it but we also have a deeper/more skilled team. We didn’t have a lot of scoring options last year beyond Shead/Cryer/Sharp. Roberts post skills look improved, Javi can handle a pass in the paint, TA is a certifiable threat off the bench, Mylik looks more comfortable in the offense, and Uzan is an upgrade at 3 point shooting over Shead. It’s just we have no weaknesses on this team.

Eveyone?
2 AP pollsters have us unranked. Another 13 have us #15 or lower
CBS Sports has us #21.
Lunardi has us a 4 seed

At this point last year (thru 4 conference games) we were 4-2 in Q1 games. This year we are 0-3. Of course this year our Q1 games were much more difficult. WVU is currently 29 and a Q1 opp, of course if we win good chance they drop to a Q2 game.

When the March Madness committee looks at our resume They see what the team we beat was ranked at that time. Is that correct?

By rank are you talking about Net? They are just using the final net rankings.

Net ranking is a big part of it but so are metrics in KenPom and barttorvick. That pretty much captures the entire resume of a program. One big emphasis put on NET is Quadrant 1 wins which I believe is playing a team ranked top 30 in NET on your home court, top 50 on a neutral court, and top 75 on the road. Here are the links to all three sites the committee looks at the most.

Currently UH sits at #1 on barttorvik, #3 on KenPom, and

Results are based on current NET rankings. For example a quad 2 win can become a quad 1 if their NET rankings improve

Sure, TA at the 4 is still an option and Sampson already uses this. However, they lose a rebounding edge and against teams with superior Frontcourt players, it’s great to have more depth. Especially as it gets closer to March and the wear & tear starts to kick in…
