Crane better step his game up

Individual signings. Who would you say the signing lived up to the massive amount of money they spent.

The Padres are unwinding their spending spree.

Oof yah the track record on that hasnā€™t been great. Of the recent guys Iā€™d say maybe Mookie Betts has come the closest to living up to his. But heā€™s also only 3 years into a 12 year deal so weā€™ll see how that ages. Trouts production has talent a nose dive (mostly because of injuries). Judge is pretty early into his but I donā€™t think heā€™s going to age well given his injury history.

Edit: Freddie Freeman has been pretty good as well. So maybe the Dodgers are immune to bad signings.

I would add Bryce Harper.

Hate that guy but yah thatā€™s good one. His production has arguably gone up since signing his deal. Which is super rare. MVP in 2021. Good call.

Besides Montero?

Net is going crazy about Framber being on the block

There is no way they trade Framber.

Do you see Framber as a true ACE? I see Framber as a pretty decent number 2.

So if you can trade him to a team that sees him as an Ace and you get that kind of value in return, why not trade him.

Do I see Framber as an ace?

In '22 he certainly was and for a good chunk of last year!!

If you trade him away youā€™re not going to get the same value and youā€™re basically pi$$ing away your opportunity to win another WS this yr or next.

I donā€™t want to trade Framber. But this team as its currently constructed ainā€™t winning the WS next year.
Youā€™re either getting better or youā€™re getting worse. Thereā€™s no such thing as being the same. And the Astros have not gotten better. Theyā€™re just another year older with an even weaker pen.

You donā€™t really follow the team that closely do you?

Do you really need to be given the laundry list of how theyā€™ll be better this year compared to last yr without doing anything??

Trade Framber and sign an ace.

I think it just foretells that thereā€™s no way heā€™ll be signed to a long-term deal. He would be hard to replace, but it would be better than letting him walk for draft picks. Itā€™s kind of like the Tucker discussion - acknowledge that heā€™s a great player who isnā€™t going to be in the long-term plans because of circumstances.

What we donā€™t really know about Framber is whether he may have already hit his ceiling. The second half of last year was not what you want to see from a guy who youā€™ll expect to be THE GUY. But Iā€™d still roll with him next year unless thereā€™s a tremendous deal availalbie, since thereā€™s another year of arbitration eligibility (I think) after the 2024 season

No I donā€™t know anything about them, little boy. Give me the laundry list of Garcia and McCullers. GTFOH

Gonna be better my ass.
Lol

Keep Framber and sign an ace.

With what extra money?

The only way ā€œan aceā€ comes to the Astros will be via trade for a Tucker package There wonā€™t be any major free agent deals unless something big changes.

They can keep him if they want but the trade rumors are already public. Donā€™t think thatā€™s gonna help his mental. Iā€™d rather just get some value in a trade.

I tend to agree with this approach, unless the trade return is more than ā€œprospects.ā€ But we have to face the fact that weā€™re not keeping everyone, so itā€™s a matter of figuring out what return pieces keep us in position to keep winning and making those moves.

That you think itā€™s just McCullers and Garcia shows you may watch them but youā€™re clueless
