Has Ed Oliver had the most successful NFL Career out of any UH football player?

He was great on Hill Street Blues

Leonard Michell was a first round pick for the Eagles. Played in 89 games for Eagles and Falcons over 8 years! Mitchell came in at 6’7” 290 lbs.

Again, like Fletcher.

Great career.

But no pro bowls or all-pros. Coogs in the NFL that earned such distinctions should be ranked ahead of those that didn’t as far as who had the “most sucessful NFL career.”

Mitchell played D-line in the NFL. Probably ranks behind Fletcher in that regard.

Only started 55 out of 89 career games. Only one career sack.

McMillan is arguably the top Coog DB in the NFL.

In 1992, he made a pro bowl and all-pro, and led the NFL in interceptions.

Absolutely awesome. Legend.

That embodies what college sports should be all about. Local, regional rivalries mean college sports not the forced media version that we have today.

Newhouse played on 2 Super Bowl teams, winning 1 and threw a TD pass in the 1978 Super Bowl.

Yes he was pretty good. He is a great what if as a Coog though. He happened to be a QB during the time we had Gerald Landry.

He could have been a great veer QB.

Little Eddie is not even in the same zip code as UH’s greatest players.

When Fletcher was playing for the Coogs, another defensive player was getting all of the press. I told Coach Yeoman, that I thought Simon Fletcher was playing great and doesn’t get the press. Coach told me, “I wish I had a whole team of Simon Fletchers.” Yes, those were his exact words.

ROTFL! NO

He’s one of the best to ever play here. Get put of your feelings and the 1970s. That was 50 years ago.

Val Belcher, Riley Odoms

Case Keenum is still on a roster.

13 years later.

Easy answer to your question is NOT CLOSE.

To throw anther good name out there is Glenn Cadrez who had a nice 11 year career with 2 SB rings.

Sebastian Vollmer for me and its a pretty wide margin. Tasked with protecting the GOAT.

Let’s break it down by position

QB - Case (not even close)
RB - Newhouse (but let’s not forget Antoine Smith)
OL - Sebass
TE - Odems
WR - Elmo. I thnk it could have been Tank.
DL - this is a hard one. Have to go Fletcher.
LB - Greg Brezina he was critical in the best defense everyone has forgotten about the 1977 Atlanta Falcons Gritz Blitz. Statistically the best defense ever.
DB - McMillan (shout out to Alton Montgomery and Randy Thorton).

Elmo was the first UH football ‘star’ I was able to watch. He was a groundbreaker in more ways than one but his pro career was nothing special.

At WR I’d go back to Pat Studstill who had a nice long tenure in the NFL with the Lions and Rams. He was a punter for the most part and a good one. But he also led the NFL in yards receiving and yards per game in '66. He made a couple of Pro Bowls and an All-Pro designation.
