54-53 Coogs @ 4:23 second half

Harvard making a run.

Harvard pulls it out. 57-56

This will be one of those games they look back on and shake their head at what should’ve been.

Very disappointing.

That was disappointing. Great defensive play by Gray to set us up with a chance to win, but Gray can’t come up with the bucket.

We completely fell apart in the last five minutes. Guys were too busy trying to be heroes instead of passing the basketball and getting open looks.

Awful, awful loss.

Harvard is a nobody. We are not an NCAA team this year. What a disappointment.

No NCAA team for sure. Nit, yes. This would of put it us in good shape. Now…UH has to win the Conference tournament. AAC is having a down year as a conference.

With the new arena coming in 2018, coach Sampson will be in the hot seat if they don’t make it to the Ncaa tournament. Yes, 2017 has been his best recruiting class, but that is not saying much. He’s had the new practice facility to recruit.

This was exactly what I saw as well. When they shared the ball and had good ball movement, UH had an advantage. Then #11 started bombing 3s and UH gave up some easy lay ups. This one slipped away. Onto AAC play and hope Davis is able to go.

We just dropped to an 80 RPI and this game will count as a really bad loss in the eyes of the committee. We won’t make the tourney unless we finish 2nd and have at least two wins on the road against top 50 teams.

That, or winning the conference tourney but that usually means having like a 12 seed and a first round exit.

I think Chicken getting hurt and having to go out for several minutes cost us the game! Could be wrong, but that is what I thought.

I just don’t understand why we can’t round the corner with our BB program.

This.

I’m still so disappointed with this loss. You could see that the crowd numbers were up for this game. And with a win, the momentum would’ve kept building.

But now, it almost feels like we’re way back at square one. People will again write off the basketball program and decide not to attend the games because they wouldn’t be supporting a winner. It sounds bad…but that’s the mentality of sports in Houston (with the exception of the Texans…which have some sort of mind-control mechanism that forces people to attend in droves for a mediocre product from a mediocre ownership/management group).

So disappointed. (But I will be watching and supporting the rest of the way hoping the team can learn, catch lightning in a bottle and unleash fury in league play.)

Horrible choke job.

I realize that Davis and Knowles were both hurt, but that last five minutes or so was VERY painful.

I hope that we pull it together for conference. Our chances of making the NCAAs without a conference tourney win are looking smaller and smaller.
