Just a few stats:
As has already been mentioned, Ja’Vier hasn’t fouled out of a single game all year. He fouled out of 5 all of last year, and 4 of them came after Jojo Tugler went out for the season and our frontcourt depth was severely depleted.
Ja’Vier currently has the fourth highest foul per minute rate on the team, behind Tugler, Lath, and Jefferson. His career foul/min rate is lower than Tugler, and also past big men, Breon Brady, Brison Gresham, and Chris Harris.
Francis also has the 2nd highest rebound per minute and block per minute rate on the team behind Tugler. He is also our best free throw shooting big man by a wide margin.

Francis was 33.3% his freshman year. Just a dramatic improvement at the line. You can tell he has put a TON of work in.

You would think JF would be able to develop some mid-range game considering he canshoot FTs decently… I guess he’s just too uncoordinated to put it together with dribbling and footwork involved.
His post game has been much improved from last season.

Awesome. I’m going to be there around 6:45, so hopefully I can get one.
Makes you wonder why Roberts is still so bad at them since he’s had what, 9 seasons at UH to improve (lol).
If he could make free throws we arguably beat both San Diego State and Alabama (and Uzan against Tech.) Frustrating that 3 missed free throws in the last seconds of games are the difference between our only loss being a 5-pointer to the best team in the country.
Oh well! Let’s beat the hell out of Baylor tonight.

J’Wan’s FT shooting percentage was up near 70% just two years ago. Not sure what happened these last two years.
He definitely looks worse visually from the line than he used to. His form is way less smooth/more jerky and it seems to change from attempt to attempt. Ugly stuff (though he’s had a few late game clutch ones, as well, so it hasn’t been all bad.)
I just wish we gave him the ball less with the game on the line with how bad he is at the line. Seems like a poor strategic choice with that huge liability.
And complain about it… old heads

J’Wan has made a number of really clutch FTs the past few games since his costly misses. Even the TT game he made some huge shots, just didn’t them all.
