or opted for the SEC when they added Arkansas

University of Texas is a state institution and the athletic department profitability should be a matter of public record. I have no doubt UT would kick and scream at releasing that information, and I am sure UT has friends in the Attorney General’s Office that would squash any such request.

I’d be extremely surprised if that information isn’t in the annual budget that they release.

A little OT but UTSA and UT Health San Antonio are merging! This is going to make UTSA competitive like crazy AND get it a larger share of the PUF. Their endowment will be about 1.1 bil afterwards.

(horns down and all, but as an academic, this is a big brain move and i’m happy for utsa to achieve what it wants to be for the city of satx)

Great move for UTSA. UT Health SA is strong. The PA program is rated fourth in the state behind Baylor, UTSW and UNT Ft Worth. Their PT program is also very solid with average undergrad GPA of around 3.65. Of course, they also have a comprehensive medical school.

Big win for public heath and education in central Texas. Congratulations.

Sam Khan Jr., of The Athletic, tweeted that Brett Yorkmark has renewed pursuit of University of Connecticut as a B12 member. Where there is smoke is their fire?

What part of No doesn’t Brett understand.

Uconn is the one of the worst football programs in the country.

Man kind of hardheaded but that what makes him, him, being tenacious. I hope the B12 Prez’s give him a hard pass on this one.

Could we take UConn’s basketball and do a schedule alliance with their football team?

Ohhhhhhh no.

PLEASE don’t bring that shitty football brand on board.

Oh lord
no to UCONN
no to Gonzaga

IF we add ACC schools, we need to be very selective to only add value to our conference.

16 is A LOT of schools
the B1G isn’t sure 18 will work out due to their large size, they will find out if it works.

Yeah, I don’t support this decision.

Would ACC have taken UConn for reduced share?

Maybe UConn football can be the Big 12’s Vanderbilt or B1G’s Purdue/Illinois. Don’t we need one?

I think we are currently viewed as “the Vanderbilt/ Purdue/ Illinois” level football program

This is all about Yormark’s push for a separate TV package for Allstate 12 basketball.

Actually we could use TV exposure in the highly populous NYC/NE area. Why not ?

Our conference schedule is really, really tough. Why not someone we could routinely beat and provide playing time for our reserves?
