North Carolina and Duke are not on the same level.
UNC wouldn’t be added by the SEC for its viewership. It would be added for its entire profile of academic strenght, brand power (UNC Blue), and then basketball.
Duke offers basketball, but it doesn’t offer the first 2.
Also again, SEC values land grant flagships which Duke is not.
if the ACC collapses, Duke likely lands in the Big East with other schools that are similar in nature like Xavier. Hell… Duke could fit in the Ivy League for all we know.
It is a misconception that aggy is a ‘conservative’ school. They have male cheerleaders. Very liberal attitude. They cosplay with ‘army’ uniforms. Fake army. They were defeated by SMU cheerleaders. Its their very “Remember Pearl Harbor” day. A day that lives in infamy
It’s interesting how A&M’s genre/image changed over time
Technically I guess they were liberal lol, but I disagree that A&M is no longer a conservative school. They very much are, perhaps outside of the Business school and Engineering/CompSci.
The type of person who goes to UT for a degree in humanities or women’s studies is not going to be the same person that would go to A&M for the same degree
not sure about that…I know a bunch of Aggies and the most Liberal Aggie is NOWHERE anywhere close to the minimum Liberal Longhorn.
That’s why one goes to College Station/Bryan, Texas and the other attends a school in the California of Texas (Austin) but Kamala thinks Texas is ‘in play’ for her this election.
Much of the “conservative” Longhorns student demographic is going to be in the higher ranked schools. It’s the Liberal Arts and adjacent non-STEMs that are going to be the most liberal.
Most of the out-of-state students at UT in STEM majors are going to be very liberal
I can’t wrap my brain around Oregon St. and Washington St. bailing out Clemson and Florida St. and then bringing them to the B12. Has the Earth tipped on it’s axis?
If that’s how you interpreted what I said then that’s my mistake.
I’m saying that UNC offers pretty much everything that Duke does and more, and Duke lacks certain factors that is brought by UNC which is why Duke would never be in the SEC.
