Kevin Brown is the PxP announcer for the Baltimore Orioles and was suspended by the owner for the ridiculous reason of making a negative comment on the team’s past history at Tampa Bay. The only reason I post this is because Kevin Brown was the PxP announcer for several UH Men’s Basketball games on ESPN+ last season and I thought he did a good job. The Baltimore fans were chanting “Free Kevin Brown” during the Astros game.

Yep recognized him as soon as I watched the clip in question. How bizarre. Dude is pretty solid and seemed very straight laced play by play guy.

As a Baltimore native and Orioles fan of more than 60 years this is totally on point for the worst ownership in US professional sports (now that the clown in Washington sold the NFL team).

Also a native Marylander and the Orioles ownership is repeating history. We lost Jon Miller for nearly the same reasons back in the 90s. Jon Miller and Joe Angel were the best.

The Astros moved Gene Elston out to the Tal Farlow Foundation to bring in Milo. Elston’s style was very low key and the Astros wanted a bigger and louder homer in the booth.
Brown is back today.
Gene Elston went on to be one of the best duos on NBA radio games during the Dreams best years and two championships. Wasnt it Gene when Rockets were playing that famous playoff game jn Utah going crazy yelling they didnt start the clock? The time keeper in Utah was trying give the Jazz a couple more seconds to run a play 1 minute left in the 4th quarter. Iconic radio call go down in Rockets lore.
You are thinking of Gene Peterson. Gene Elston never broadcast the Rockets. Completely different announcing styles.

I lived back’n’forth from TX to Sykesville/Hampstead, MD from 6th grade through 9th grade…
I went to game 2026 during Ripken’s streak to break 2030…
I still have a smidge of O’s fan in me… Ravens, too…
But I pull for HOUSTON vs EVERYBODY!

I hate the Jazz to this day. All the flopping, oh my Carl Malone was like a feather touch him and he fall down and get the call. Such garbage had deal with when Rockets played the Jazz in 90s. Then that jerk Stockton and his short shorts. A team just so hateable.
