I live in Ft Bend County and this is the first I have heard of it. I had to read 3 articles about him just to find which party he is affiliated with and the fake name he was Using. “Antonio Scallywag” is the false identity. I started laughing over Scallywag. I would love to be on that jury.

County Judge George’s Chief of Staff was indicted for the same thing. The Chief of Staff was running for Pct 3 Commissioner against long time incumbent Andy Myers.
Despicable stuff, these guys shouldn’t be in office, no matter what party you support.

I guess he’s going to have to be either convicted or voted out.

Question though uhlaw97, legally is it the crime of “impersonation” if the person you made up doesn’t exist? I am not saying he should stay in office here…just wondering if he could skate on it?

I’d have to research the case law on that.
I’ve prosecuted people for publishing intimate visual material online without permission, but I have yet to bring a case under the online impersonation statute.

Sadly, there is very little chance of him losing, Ft Bend like Harris is a blue county.

I’m a Fort Bend resident myself.
But he could be voted out in the Dem primary. Surely someone will want to run against him in that, given all that has transpired.
If the Dems rally behind him, then they’ll look as bad as the Republicans that rally behind Trump.

I’ve been told on this board, and generally the message nationally is that if you don’t support Trump, you are a RINO.
The real Republicans don’t have a party anymore, and many will likely hold their nose and vote for him anyway.
So, yeah, all Republicans, unless they want to grow some and take their party back.

Not many, to be sure. But they are out there.
