Final Four Tickets on day of

Anyone have any experience buying tickets the day of the Final Four? Planning to make the trip with my fellow season ticket holders and I was advised to wait until the day of for prices to drop. I’m a little scared doing that and wanted to see if anyone had any experience doing it like that. Thanks!

I did it for the championship game in Atlanta when UMd won. This was in 2002 and we bought paper tickets outside the stadium. Tickets were super cheap.

Obviously it is a way different world now.

Wish out of town Alumni like myself can buy Final Four tickets from the UH ticket office. Planning on being in San Antonio, no matter what. Have lots of family/friends in Houston.

Per my friend talking about the final four in Houston.

“So could be pricier if coogs make it but when we went in Houston we waited until the day of and got almost front row seats for like $1-150“

Going to be way expensive with all number one seeds there and big name schools

Duke had lots of fans (prob t-shirt variety) in Dallas last year. Won’t be just Coogs buying tix

I purchased 2 tickets for all sessions in section 202. Paid a lot but a once in a lifetime event. My brother lives in Austin so I dont have to worry about hotel. I’m stoked!

Not a bad idea. Traffic shouldn’t be bad up 35 after.

I make that trip multiple times a month. SA to North Austin.

I plan to stick around if all goes well, river walk will be rocking. I’m bunkering down in SA for the evening and took the next day off!

Traffic going to be horrible Final four and the Valer Open? It’s bad in SA on normal days lol

I will be traveling in spirit.
Still paying for the football and basketball seats that I just renewed.
Be loud, be proud.
Go Coogs

I drill out of Camp Bullis.

1604 from stone Oak to Braun Rd sucks for traffic. Constant construction.

But then I realize I could be stuck on 290 in Houston.

Back in 1983, enroute to the Final Four, we played the regional in Kansas City. A group of us, including the Gammages, Burns, Haydens, and McPhersons were outside the stadium on the way in. A lady with Iowa apparel on had a sign that said “I need 3 tickets.” Dick McPherson told her he had 3 extra tickets. The lady told Dick, “Mister, I can’t pay more than $100 apiece for them.” Dick told her, “Lady, if you pull for the Coogs tonight, I’ll just give them to you.” I thought she was going to cry on the spot. I’ll never forget that incident and what a nice guy Dick was.

1604 kind of sucks pretty much everywhere north of I-10, doesn’t it?

Yes

Just wondering since this is a Non-Conf game… anybody got any freebies.

Having attended a few FF’s, I found the ticket prices go down for the finals because a lot of the fans from the losing teams unload their tickets (of course it depends on the schools) so this year I bought tickets just for Saturday and will wait for Monday hopefully for a lower price.

When I went to the sweet 16 last year in Dallas I tried waiting until the last minute to see if the prices would drop for the coogs game but they just shot up and I ended up paying way more than I hoped so I honestly have no idea what to expect for saturday’s prices.

These schools have great fan bases expect high prices and getting higher it will be a tough ticket

Yeah, I was at the this game too and there were a ton of Duke fans. Many didn’t even have Duke gear on. Plenty of SA peeps will go see them.
