Exploding Pagers

So it’s both scary in capabilities and pretty cool to makes that happen.

The moral of the story is don’t screw with Israel.

How did they do that?

The moral of the story is…where was your phone made and how are our relations with that country?

This may be the single most INGENIOUS act of espionage I’ve EVER heard of!

Hezbollah

Hezbollah in order to avoid Israeli tracking of their smartphones.

Or so they thought.

The Israelis, of course, were smart enough to infiltrate that as well.

NO anti-Israel terrorist bad guy should ever feel safe anywhere!

Israel just established that.

A bunch of them just got their balls blown off from an exploding pager in their pockets!

When I heard about this, I thought of The Wire. When they trick the guy into buying already tapped cell phones from Lester Freamon.

It’s hard to imagine a more well-deserving group for this to happen to.

These are terrorists attacks. The one video i saw is at a public market. I’m sure innocents have been injuried You can’t guarantee where the pagers are when it explodes. Unethical at the least. I know, they are targeting terrorists but this not the right way and attacking in Lebanon will definitely escalate things. So F the hostages seems to be the Bibi answer

No they ain’t.

Terrorist attacks intentionally target innocent civilians.

These attacks targeted Hezbollah operatives, whom I do NOT consider to be innocent at all.

They killed a child today

Collateral damage.

Unfortunate.

No way around it when you attack this way. Which is why i call this a terrorist attack by a country

You could say the same thing about bombing and field artillery.

NOT terrorism.

So the infilyration was at the pager factory, putting explosives directly in the pagers. Don’t know why they let that leak. Letting idea simmer that they could blow up personal devices on command is an absolute crazy mind f*ck.

Also I don’t disagree with Law. If this was 20 years ago and we were able to blow up huge chunks of Al-Quaeda with out directly risking a single American troop, piece of expensive equipment, etc. We as a people would be thrilled with that.

These were precision exploions that only hurt the person with the beeper. Was there a chance it could have hurt someone not intended? Yes. But a heck of a lot lower chance than a missle or other munitions. This was a network of pagers used by Hezbollah, which is a terrorist organization according to US law.

I am sadened by one injured innocent, that really is awful but this was not an indiscriminate bombing.

But I’m glad you’re concerned about the wellfare of Hezbollah that sends rockets and munitions in to Israel that hit soccer fields with kids and adults at play, or sends them at other civilian targets.

(Edited after I saw you mentioned one innocent was injured)

One more thing, attacking in Lebanon yes could escalate things or it could stop them from sending more missles to Israel. I may not agree with every action taken by Bibi but to say we can’t retaliate because it will be an ecalation is just ridiculous.

These 12 Israeli Druze children were killed by Hezbollah sending rockets in to civilian areas in Israel.

Hezbollah has sent somewhere around 8,000 rockets in to Israel in the last year. Yet, this exploding pagers is an escalation?
