one thing often forgotten in the “Ailen” discussion is gravity. Earths gravity is right near the max that chemical rockets can make it to orbit. How many worlds end up with life that are unable to access spaceflight?

Somehow that dream hasn’t taken off in the dozen years since.
And just to muddy the waters a little more, there is a theory that the UFO/alien sightings aren’t really extraterrestrial at all but are instead time travelers from the future.
Agree that current technologies limit our ability to make contact. But science marches on and I have no doubt that folks in 100 years are going to laugh at us for believing in electrons or some other thing.

Space and time are vast, and human existence is a flash in the pan comparatively. It could be that at this moment we’re alone in the universe, and that other intelligent life existed or will exist but the gulf of spacetime is to great to ever know about them.

Does an ant, somewhere in the Arizona desert know if a plane passes 35000 ft overhead.
The ant for that matter couldn’t possibly perceive what a plane is.
Doesn’t enter their sphere of influence or realm of influence, thought or possibilities.

This reminds me of when my oldest son was a boy. He received a plastic baseball ball and bat set as a gift. He opens it, and his first instinct was to immediately use the bat to bash something. Soon the entire party of 3 year old boys were bashing things with plastic bats. Absolutely hilarious. Looked at his mom and said, “gotta love human evolution.”

I find it hard to believe they haven’t attacked us yet or landed so that they are on cnn news. The Bible doesn’t mention them and indicates we’re alone. Bigfoot is another mystery. The theory is the Bigfoot are smart enough to stay away from us like cougars and they are small in numbers. Why haven’t we found one body yet? The ufo and Bigfoot theories could just be a figment of our imagination. Doesn’t the gov supposed to have alien bodies in area # ? In Nevada but we never get to see? God does things to confound the wise like putting a vast endless universe in which we’re alone and special .
So I’m not sure but skeptical until I see evidence.
Bible doesn’t mention Dinosaurs either or the Terror Bird, dinosaur’s cousin, that was high in the food chain for thousands of years.
Agreed. I’ve never understood that thought carrying any weight in either direction.
Why does anyone think that something not being explicitly mentioned in the bible makes the bible untrue…OR makes the unnamed thing not real?
That has never made any sense to me.
Example: My Grandma never said the words “Butthole Surfers”, but that didn’t mean she was false or that there was no such band. 
…
And the bible (as far as I know) doesn’t mention Butthole Surfers. Ha ha
