Do you believe Aliens/Intelligent Life exists in the universe

Bored at my family Christmas get-together and we’re talking about Drones which turned into UFO conspiracies

Yes.

Whether we will ever contact it is a different story.

Who said there were drones? I never came from the official Whitehouse government, the line was we don’t know what they are but pose no threat to national security. Not a word about drones from the government. If there drones they have incredible battery power that known drones don’t have for staying in the sky for hours on end. Fact they’,be been observed worldwide not just the U.S… But you won’t hear that from the press.

There’s no proof of intelligent life here on Earth, why would we expect it anywhere else in the Universe?

Yes. I just think it’s silly of us as humans to believe we are the only intelligent life anywhere.

Ha ha. Especially in Texas!

No, I don’t…

Speaking of, here’s a recent interview on the subject with David Spergel, chair of NASA’s independent Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon (UAP) study team, on the subject.

A very eloquent, sound and inquisitive conversation without the usual sensationalist, mystical, “I want to believe” inherent bias that surrounds this topic in various podcast spaces.

We’ve had drones for over thirty years that could travel over 700 miles, or stay in the air for 24 hours at a time. No reason they have to be battery powered.

I speak of commercial drones maximum battery life is 43 minutes. Not military, Predator and others have much longer battery life. But these drones don’t have hovering capability they have to circle. Stand by my original statement who calling them drones? Whitehouse hasn’t.

MQ-1 Predator: Up to 40 hours of flight time.

  • Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton: Up to 30 hours of flight

“On Earth”? How bout on this board?!

Baby steps Tim.

100% yes.

Yes, have you read some of the posts on this site?

Odds are yes, contact is unlikely though.

In the event of contact, we’re probably boned. I mean these would be creatures who mastered interstellar travel. We’d probably look like not even the really smart chimps, but the “special” ones to them. If we were lucky enough to look linte chimps and not go right to the dogs and cats category.

It’s possible that intelligent extraterrestrial beings have already visited earth before human civilization existed, but it would be impossible to prove it

On the other hand, it’s possible that intelligent life anywhere in the universe always naturally end up in the destruction of themselves. So it’s possible that any intelligent life never reaches the point of interstellar travel due to this

We are not alone.

I don’t understand why a species would visit earth before we existed, do nothing constructive, and then come back again.

“Lester, lets stop by that little blue planet where we took a leak”

“Why?”

“Don’t be an ass. It’s on the way home.”

Agree, especially for aliens that live in 3D+space-time like us and are thousands or millions of light years away.

The Andromeda Galaxy, also called Messier 31 or M31, is the nearest major galaxy to the Milky Way. It is 2.5 million light years away from Earth and is the other major member of the Local Group, our local collection of galaxies.Oct 26, 2023

But perhaps they are not aliens at all but higher dimensional beings who live here too but in the higher dimensions. Occasionally aspects or portions of thier infrastructure pop into our little 4 D reality and we see strange things in the sky and ocean that do funny things we can’t explain. They have zero interest in us much like we have zero interest in the microbes in the soil beneath our feet. The flatland analogy explanation.

Watched first link; well worth an hour of your time if you want to understand more.

Key takeaways for me from it:
1 eyewitness testimony data is not very
reliable; it’s low quality data.
2 A job of Chinese military is to spy on US military. A job of US military is to spy on Chinese military.
3 many natural phenomena we understand poorly and don’t have high quality data on.
4 About 1% of UAP reported events lack explanation but most probably not visiting aliens. Data quality is a problem.
5 Aliens or military spy stuff would have no need for flashing lights on them.

Much more in the video 1, just few things I
noted. Can’t wait to look at link 2.

Thanks for posting.

Yes, most definitely the Universe is teeming with life.

In terms of contact, I personally believe we already have been but there has been no definitive proof yet. The argument is that the distance is just too far. I don’t buy that.

1969 we landed a man on the moon. In 1869, 100 years earlier we were riding horseback and thought man would never fly. So in 100 years we went from horseback to the Apollo missions.

Our planet is very young in cosmic terms. What if we had another billion years of technological progress? Could we learn to fold space? Maybe, probably. We will certainly be interstellar.

The other argument is that no civilization gets there because once they have powerful enough weapons they destroy each other. We could have destroyed ourselves already but we haven’t. So we can’t say definitively that is the case.

Humans are precocious children. We show great aptitude and we show great ability to act like children. I think we will eventually grow up.
We grow in leaps and bounds, not linearly.

I think the next big leap forward will come when we become interplanetary. Once we are interplanetary we will realize the resources that are limited on earth are actually unlimited once you are Interplanetary.

So man’s history has been defined by obtaining and protecting limited resources. Our entire economy is based on supply and demand. What if the supply is unlimited? What happens then? What do we evolve into once supply completely out paces demand?

I have great hope for humanity and yes there is intelligent life out there.
