CWF’s coaching staff

Usually not a great sign when his old school has a long laugh in the comments but gotta trust in Fritzie/ Staff.

His offense was good at CMU in 21. App State in 22.

He got an F as a coach from the newspaper there.

We have to give it a F as in Fritz here. He must see something good.
If not…this seems like a reach seeing his offense v P5 competition.

Well he was transitioning from Mike Leach’s offense so I would expect issues.

The two seasons at Appalachian State, Barbay’s offenses combined to averaged 448.01 yards per game and would go on to rank in the top 20 nationally. His offenses would consistently score over 30 points per game, achieving that feat 56 percent of the time with a 33.61 points per game average.

Gotta root for a guy from Nederland

Do we have any contract numbers on these guys yet? We heard about the big raise in coaching salary pool, but I feel like we could have gotten most of these guys pretty easily with our old budget.

That whole staff was placed in a terrible situation there, I’m sure it was not easy

Our assistant budget isn’t much different than last year. It’s up like 5%.

And still giving huge raises to much of Tulane’s staff coming in.

Saw a comment that Tulane S&C Hester getting Darl Bauer $400k was a double + raise.

Apparently Hester saw “the bubble” at Rice & was unhappy.
Tulane building basically the same thing.

Hester’s facility on NOLA Northshore was sweet
2nd only to 'Traction '- Baton Rouge (Ryan Clark and Ryan Theriot -former Astro ?) when I lived in S LA.

Sortable by conference.
Okie State S & C is a $1 million salary ?
Deep pockets Stillwater way.

Can UH please reestablish a recruiting pipeline to the DFW area? We need to make SMU and Baylor very nervous.

I’m guessing TE and the OC handles QBs.

Does he have a rep as a good recruiter?

Are you are this is accurate? Based on earlier info amd tweets, I was under the impression that the coaching and staff salary went up to 7 million from 5.5.

Yes, I’m sure. JD corrected it later.

It went from $6.5M to 6.75 iirc. That’s for the entire staff (not just on the field).

Are you sure that isn’t a holdover? He was on the staff last year.

Before his bio said “offensive analyst,” and I think the 247 guy, Zenitz?, posted that he would be the QBs coach. But I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily set in stone.

Yes I think he is a solid recruiter and has been a successful head coach at several high schools like Magnolia & Cedar Ridege . He is from the Waco area (China spring ) where his dad was a longtime coach . He jumped to college coaching when Matt Rhule hired him at Baylor seeing to use his Texas ties in recruiting
