Commissioner: American Athletic Conference not getting appreciated

“I think our teams have been underappreciated and underranked all year,” Aresco said. “I think USF should be ranked. I think Temple should be ranked. I thought Navy should have been ranked weeks ago and should be higher now. I think Houston should be in the Top 10. I don’t know why people aren’t talking about Tulsa.”

All Aresco can do is continue promoting his narrative of the American as a Power 6 conference. All the AAC schools are wearing P6 helmet stickers this season.

“I think the American Athletic Conference is vastly underappreciated, and I’m going to keep pounding away on that. Our teams are really, really good and I don’t think the rankings reflect that fact,” Aresco said. “I think the committee needs to acknowledge that the American is very good and needs to be treated like the other five. My goal and the goal of the conference is to keep sawing wood, keep playing well and hopefully down the road get the system changed.”

HE/THEY
The day he & other G5 commishs agreed to “The best of the G5 to a NY eve bowl” and the CFP he/they knew that the G5 Schools would be regarded as second class citizens.
It easy to complain now but the G5 commishs made their own bed.

It’s simple, if it has implications on your league and you feel it’s affecting your conference adversely sue them already.

The committee is a cartel and when he agreed to have the P5 separation he and othe G5 commissioners did their university a great disservic

Only a court order /act of Congress can change the overall trajectory of college football.

Unfortunately you are 100% correct.
Let’s look at Western Michigan. What happens if they are excluded from the NY eve bowl and they finish undefeated? Toledo, their last opponent is 9-2. They beat two P5 teams. That is not their fault that these Schools are not good this year.
The CFP is a total farce. We all know this system is corrupt to the highest degree.

The college football championship game needs to be a playoff, not an invitational.

We can all agree on that but what/how do you think this is going to happen?
It is all related to Dollars and cents. I will add that if a 16 teams playoff happens the prize money should be shared equally.
I am going too far again the cartel will never agree to it. It is amazingly frustrating.

No, you make it a true playoff. Make it an 8 team playoff. A champions payoff. You get in by winning your conference, period. Runner up in the SEC? Too bad. You didn’t win the conference. No playoff.

Eventually, it will be a P4 not P5. Take the P4 and the G5. The two lowest conference champions play one another to advance to the playoff. This way you earn your way into the playoff on the field. The only human intervention is the seeding process.

As long as human decision making is involved in the process, there will always be screams of inequity. This resolves a lot of problems…

The CARTEL decides not you, I or anybody else. They want to keep the money to themselves. This has nothing to do with a National Championship.

Quit overexposing your best team for ratings and not saving them for a NY6 bowl
