Christmas movie or not?

I say these all are Christmas movies:

Die Hard
Gremlins
Trading Places

Me too!

Die Hard revolved around a single Christmss Party.

It’s a Wonderful Life spanned 40+ years and ended on Christmas Eve.

Which movie was more focused?

Gremlins definitely.

Gremlins and Trading Places for sure. :+1:

I have never agreed with the whole “Die Hard” as a Christmas movie :movie_camera:.

Gremlins has the darkest Christmas story of all time, and I’m here for it.

Every damn time

It always bothers me when they mess up sports stuff in movies. In Die Hard, they have Notre Dame playing USC in a football game on Christmas Eve.

Maybe it was on DVR

Agreed.

My position is that any movie that occurs during the Christmas holiday it is about Christmas is a Christmas movie.

My personal favorites:

  • A Christmas Story (of course!)
  • Home Alone (first 1)
  • The Ref (underrated Dennis Leary movie)
  • Trading Places
  • The Family Man (watch it every holiday. Love it. Probably my favorite Nick Cage flick).
  • Die Hard 2
  • Nothing Like the Holidays
  • This Christmas
  • Lethal Weapon 1
  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas (I like them all).
  • Just Friends (underrated Ryan Reynolds flick)
  • national Lampoons Christmas Vacation
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas
  • Red One (totally underrated movie).
  • You’ve Got Mail

And my number 1 favorite: A Charlie Brown Christmas!!!

Guilty pleasures:

  • Big Time Rush Christmas (hey I have kids and they loved that show).

  • South Park Christmas specials

  • Bad Santa

  • Office Christmas Party

  • A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas (yes I like all of these movies and no don’t ask me why😉)

Ok then what about 8 Crazy Nights? Of the Hebrew Hammer?

I don’t care if it is a Thanksgiving movie, I can watch John Candy & Steve Martin in Planes, Trains & Automobiles any time any day.

Also enjoy Christmas with the Kranks and I’ll be home for Christmas.

Those are not Christmas movies but Holiday movies. With that said, is Hanukah always in December? For some reason I thought it shifted, sort of like Eid in Islam.
