CFB sign stealing?

Quick meaningless anti-Utah stat, in the 14 games before being caught for sign stealing, Utah was 11-3.

In the 14 games since being caught for sign stealing, Utah is 6-8

What the heck. What password were they using? 1234?

Pretty sure when Joe Lee Dunn was at Memphis they stole our signals when they whipped Briles team leading Art to change how we relayed plays into game.

Somebody ought to check and see if UH’s communications were intercepted in the Cincinnati and Kansas games and the second half of the Iowa State game.

hate to say it but this is on Tech.

There’s too much money involved to not think cheating isn’t baked in.

What exactly is their punishment after being caught like that? TCU and Baylor deserve a serious penalty.

It’s possible that tech is just a bunch of sore losers

When the New England Patriots were caught cheating by the NFL, Coach Belichick was fined $500K, the team was fined $250K, and New England lost a first round draft pick. Those penalties do not translate to college.

I would suspend the head coach and whoever else is involved, issue a 1 year bowl ban, and limit scholarships for a year. The penalty has to be harsh because it affects the integrity of the game.

They didn’t even know about it until someone from another (non-conference) school alerted them earlier this week.

In any event, the league determined that it was no big deal.

To even the field the B12 is issuing trash cans and broom sticks to all teams at every game.

Why would either school be punished?

Neither did anything wrong. There is no proof or hint of use of listening and/or using their comms. Just a school that lost and did not buy a secure comm system.

Can’t speak to the BU game, but how would TCU give up 28 straight points and fall for a fake field goal if they were listening in and relaying plays.

Only thing mentioned in the article above is an accusation by Tech, and that most schools new about it, except apparently Tech. A different article states that the Big 12 found no inappropriate use.

It is a case of sour grapes and a bunch of people that believe everything posted on the internet.

That’s quite a rant. This must have touched a nerve.

Look, it’s not my problem, but you’re quite wrong to say it’s just “people believing what they read on the internet.” There’s no question that TCU and Baylor had access - they both acknowledged it, but only when asked about in a conference meeting.

I don’t know if either team used that access to their advantage, but the B12 didn’t to do enough of an investigation to know that, either. They just want it to go away.

In the TCU game, how did the game go in the second half? It’s not a stretch to imagine that coaches were able to make some changes on defense based on what they heard. Maybe they heard the OC tell the QB “if you see this look on defense, audible into this play” and the defense took advantage. I don’t know if that happened, and neither do you, so spare us the self-righteous BS.

The best counter-intel will always be the simplest.

Yep, and your reply was longer than my “rant” so we both get a good time from it.

Having access to something does not make someone guilty. I have access to a lot of stuff on store shelves, but it does not make me a thief. Lots of schools knew there were comms that were not secure - it was first pointed out in the SEC. Doesn’t make them all guilty too does it?

Yes, your last paragraph is pure speculation to feed a perspective of guilt. More likely they would have done it the whole game, not wait until they were down 17 points and hoped it worked, and it would cause a fumble at the end “knowing” a QB draw…

I am tired of people pushing rumors to degrade others simply because someone accuses another school. Which is what is here because there is no evidence to show guilt, just potential stories of what could be possible and people wanting to believe it is true without facts. The essence of social media gossip. But since it is “self-righteous BS” to post against gossip, I guess I should also not do it for UH again either. Yes, I have stood up for UH on past occassion on other school sites for similar bad rumors. Enjoy your rumors. Out.

Sorry you’re tired. I didn’t degrade anyone, so maybe direct that whine somewhere else.

I never said anyone cheated, but it should be actually investigated because having access to that and failing to report it is at least suspicious.

The B12 doesn’t want to even look at it because it kind of makes them look like clowns for not having encrypted communications and not doing anything about a known issue. This isn’t gossip - it happened, so it’s silly to pretend otherwise.

When the password is ‘password.’

So maybe it’s a coincidence that Tech beat the #11 team on the road after the communications hacking was addressed. Or maybe not. Who knows? :slightly_smiling_face:

and your post right above this one. Your right, you did not say anyone cheated in those exact words and your postings did not imply investigation, just implied guilt in your postings.

Making implications without proof only hurts the conference, and all school by association.
