6’6" G/F from Klein Forest, Cedrick Alley was offered by the Coogs and Boise State on Dec 24th. He was All-State as a Junior and the 15-6A MVP. None of the scouting services have him rated, but Vype has him as the 13h best player in the Houston area and the top Undecided (Jared Vanderbilt committed to Kentucky a couple of days ago). Could be a diamond in the rough type player; LeRon Barnes-ish watching the video below.
This kid has turn himself into quite a prospect! Talk about a late bloomer…Not saying he is the next Clyde Drexler, but he has the type of game UH would love. Extremely excellent rebounder, and excellent scorer. These are the type of kids CKS needs to get. He has point guard skills as well.
Add Cedrick with a Center, and UH is set for next season. That is, if Rob Gray returns, and doesn’t go over seas to play professionally, specially if UH reaches the NCAA tournament this year…
He had a pretty significant injury prior to the season and wasn’t ready to start it. Coaching staff decided that it would be better to save him and have him the next 2 years instead of trying to fit him in this year when Meyer and Nkali were already there. They’ll need his size as they lose those 2 and Chicken next year.
Coach Sampson said at the 50/50 event in the summer that Chris Harris will be coming to U of H . I think next year. So you have that unless something has changed since then.
For the first time in his days at Duke, Krzyzewski also has a full allotment of 13 scholarships on his roster. Previously, his teams counted 11 or so scholarships, and added a walk-on or two to full-scholarship status.
Hopefully Harris makes it in; he’s currently playing at San Jacinto-Central and is 5th in all of JUCO in blocks. even though he doesn’t start and averages 16.7 MPG. He averages 7.2 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and 3.4 BPG in 14 games so far (all wins). He’ll be a force inside if he makes it in.
