When you finish 4-8 regardless of the circumstances pundits arent typically going to predict a conference championship contender. So it makes sense but doesn’t at all mean it can’t happen!

What we do know about pundits, is that are usually not knowledgeable about what they are pontificating about !!
It pains me to say this, but I believe we are one to two years away from contending. The question is whether Holgersen will last that long.

Holgerson will last for well over 3 million reasons. If we go from 4-8, to 8-4 this year, then the recruiting picks up, the depth increases, 10-2 in yewar 3, then he is set.
While I have trouble seeing what this season will bring, I would think a 6-5 regular season would be possible.
I say this because we have the majority of our tuff games on the road.
IF, and it is big if, Cauthen can put a good defense on the field, then a better record is possible.
If Cauthen fails this year, he may not be long for UH.
