Actually powerhouse because they’ve won 25 games in two years, have/will finish in the top five in consecutive years, and were Big 12 champions and then SEC runners up. I don’t have any love for the University of Texas, but it’s silly to act like they’re anything but a blueblood and a national power.
You bring up wins and losses. With top recruiting classes, with referees helping them out, with networks fabricating an aura.
Results?
Did you write results?
uta, the school, the powerhouse, the blueblood that does less with more.
Meanwhile…
Here are the teams that have done better because they either got to the final (W/L) or finished undefeated.
Bama
Clemson
Georgia
Notre Dame
LSU
OSU
Michigan
Oregon
Washington
TCU
UCF
Yes Stephen, uta is not even as good as TCU. At least they reached the final same for quite a few above.
uta doing less with more.
If I was awoken from my sleep, beamed into a ufo, used by a team of Sydney Sweeney lookalike aliens for breeding, then beamed back home, I wouldn’t think about it as much as this board thinks about ut.
It’s Chris, he dreams abt the School up Hwy 290. No one on here comes close to bringing them up ( giving them attn) more than he does.
He’s obsessed. I am anything but a UT fan. I always root against them. But it’s just silly to let enmity and jealousy get in the way of acknowledging they’re a top program.
What up Chris. Give us more!
They live in your head, all you can think about. Illnesses are treatable
Meanwhile have a Great 2025.
Edit: But I’m going to wave at ya every time you bring them up unprovoked. They don’t need the attn, already a Natl Brand
I’m telling you, its constant. Most know, I have very close family member that has her Undergrad degree from there, but I never give them mych thought when it comes to their Sports programs… i just don’t. But have to constantly read abt them on here.
I follow 2 Schools very closely n given to both consistently in some way or another for 40+ yrs . The rest all fall into the same large bucket .
Help him out SamHouston !
Not sure that the Ritz is a much better representation of our society and culture.
I dream of the day our Coogs are such a failure
You said it!
They had the ball on the 2 yard line in a final 4 game with a chance to win it. Totally underachieving .
Clear Signs uta is an Underachiever
- They are just doing enough to get by
- They always make a ton of excuses
- They lack organizational and time management skills
- They procrastinate on games and other reachable assignments
- They fail to learn from defeats season after season
- They always feel underappreciated…yes they are misunderstood
- Let’s face it they are afraid of failure and success
- They feel untitled to success because they are uta
- They lack focus, have no identity…it drives their HC’s bonkers
- Do not rely on the uta referees…What does that say about uta
Solution:
Start with
Yes
So your daughter and my son have something in common.
That is correct amundo.
I don’t see you or I parading abt on here abt UT this or that, matter of fact the opposite, in my case for sure. They’re just another program in how i go abt following them. But t9 say they’re not a Natl Brand is hogwash, just like Michigan, tOSU, Alabama, ND are . N the Natl brand title can mean different thgs, the available $$$ will always allow you a higher Branding that may not always translate into W’s on the field of play.
Ohh I see our Coogfans–Natl UT spokesman is spending more time on his beloved School.
Until Sark arrived, UT got a lot of 4 and 5 stars and very few were drafted into the NFL. That has now changed. I looked at an early mock for this coming draft and it had 9 UT players in first 3 rounds (3 in first round). To me that is the measure of developing talent.
Chris is not saying they arent a top program, he is saying they dont meet expectations, either by their own fanbase or the groveling media that ALWAYS acts and expects them to be better than they turn out to be. I hate them 24/7/365, and the day they lose their last game in whatever fashion, bowl or playoff, THAT is a happy day for me! And the WAY they lost to Ohio State? Thats a classic to remember for years…We’ll be seeing that QB sack, fumble and return for a TD for a LOOOOONG time on ESPN…and I’ll smile every time i see it!
uta has indeed been the most over hyped football program that I have ever seen. I do not know any other school that has had this type of coverage and under achieved the way they have. You betcha I will have these feelings toward uta as long as they have the puf off limit to all Texan public universities.
The land, still not sold despite assuring everybody that they would is still theirs.
The ncaa probation pushed on us by their ncaa uta friends. All of this was done to extinguish any types of momentum that we were building.
Why did they do it? Because they felt threatened that we would become dominant in Texas. In any other sports this would have been investigated to its fullest with uta getting hammered with historical bans.
Don’t ever tell us they were protecting their turf. What they did was illegal. The mafia would have been proud of it. Forever this will stain uta. My last trip to uta’s field I had beer and whatever else thrown at me by your buddies. Every time uta loses it gets always sweeter. Get that?
Oh yeah more time:
Open the puf to all Texan public universities and not only U of H.
Sell the land.
Don’t tell us that your daughter or your second cousin goes to uta. They have nothing to do with this.
Yes, the mafia would be proud.
I agree about UT being overhyped, especially coming off bad years. Regardless, even after poor years they continue to draw large crowds mainly because they recruit just about anybody in the state they want, and that includes all sports.
The last time I liked Texas was during the national title run against Navy in 1963. Back then, the average youngster thought about two schools, first TU and then agy hi.
When we played sandlot football you were either a Longhorn or Agy…I cried when I got picked to be an Agy lol.
With me my Junior year of high school, the Cougars brought in Elvin Hayes, Don Chaney and the fabulous Wonder Warren McVea.
I was convinced as I pursued a career in journalism, that UH was my college. I then never wanted to be anything but a Coog.
I still feel that way.
But I try to be objective…Texas is a football and baseball blueblood and has more Walmart T-shirt fans than anybody in the nation.
And one more thing, I would say that legendary Notre Dame has been just as hyped as Texas over the years…
