This is an exhibition game so im not putting too much stock in it. Coaches are gonna tinker with lineups and let starters rest or what not. Still a good W for the piggies though.
@pesik the (3) guys they brought back all have flaws.
Dajuan Harris - is not a killer at PG. I dont think hes elite. I view him as a game manager, i don’t think he’s a great creator for others
KJ Adams - is jacked. Love his energy. But he cant shoot. Would be a good small ball 5
Hunter Dickinson - is not a rim protector, and defensively is kinda a liability. He scores, but hes slow footed defensively, so you can never be an elite defense
They gotta play the new guys Mayo, Storr, Griffen, Passmore, Flory Bidunga
Yep he’ll be a lottery pick in the draft, I watched the game and thought he’s similar to a young derrick rose - just knows how to play. I am glad he helped expose Kansas early for us too:)
Haha i love that - Their not a final four team that’s about all we can say right now.
Arkansas beat Purdue last year in a scrimmage.
Look for Cal to screw it up…
Look for these developments… dry spell in Dec / Jan… declaration that this team is built for March… make a run in Feb…. Sec tourney is not the one that’s important to us after first round loss. March madness loss to big underdog featuring players confused on defense… it takes 3 to 5 years to really implement the culture etc etc.
Edit: How could I forget Draft Night victory!!!
I wont dance on their grave.
But, if Cincinnati is a bubble team this yr, even that is underachieving.
They have good enough talent to be a solid 6 seed
Shout out Damian Dunn for Pitt. Will be rooting for him. Knucklehead sometimes during the games but always stayed positive in the locker room and on the bench last year even though it didn’t work out.
I was really disappointed it didn’t work out better with him. I thought he would have been the missing piece.
One reason I almost wish these things stayed secret, even though I love seeing the team. People making way too much of an exhibition and it happen after today.
Remember the board meltdown when we lost to the Australian national team? Lol
No though I am sure there were a few who just didn’t know better. However I do recall some that wanted to analyze the box scores to death. lol
The worst melt down in Sampson era was after loss to Drexel in November tourney up on Liberty’s campus. Firing Sampson and he can’t get it done were thrown around. We beat Liberty and Wake Forest the next 2 games and get gut punched by Michigan in Wichita 4 months later.
Man that was tough to take at that time. Felt like we out performed them in every aspect down the stretch only for the officials to have kept them in the game, miss 2 FTs and then the luck shot.
Too soon.
i dont remember there every being calls for sampson to be fired…
not talking random poster that is an outlier… there have only been 2 major meltdowns that was a lot of people
-
year 1 when lost ark-pinne bluff and south carolina state back to back… in the non con, as that was arguable the worst back to back losses in program history (both bottom 340 teams at the time)… but i think everyone was aware that the roster imploded on him preseason, so there wasnt a call to be fired… but there was “it doesnt matter who is on roster this shouldnt happen”… but we got better as the season went on
-
the end of year 3, after another NIT.some folks were feeling like we were ceiling-ed … but even then everyone was aware we werent recruiting great… at that point we were still churning through untouted juco… There were calls to fire alvin brooks and to bring back maligi or someone like maligi (who orchestra the top 25 class with dickey) …no one doubted sampson could coach,

Nope. The cameras should have been fixed facing the floor students from the beginning and they should be changed now.
Disagree. If I am producing the telecast, do I want frontal shots of the bench, with the coaches and players, which is an extension of the action on the court, or with the UH students, who are part of the atmosphere, but not participants in the contest? Networks want the camera setup that will appeal to the widest audiences. Very few have the benches with the backs to the camera.
I love broadcasts that showcase the passion of our students and courtside cameras do that nicely.
