I think 8 is a solid and likely number. 7 is also very likely but also a bit disappointing. I’d be thrilled if we can get 9 but i would bet against it.
That 11 seed for BYU is arguably better than an 8/9 or even a 7… if you can get it. The downside is that means you will be on the bubble, or at least uncomfortably close to it.
11 is the lowest you can go as an at-large P4 team. There are no 12s available to you. That seed is reserved for more top-end mid-majors and lows. They can go higher than 12, but our teams cannot go lower.
Although theoretically if a basement team wins a P4 conference tournament they could go lower than 11, at least in theory. I don’t think it’s actually happened.
They have improved their NET by about 10 spots climbing to 66 despite losing 5 of their last 6. I still think that’s too low by quite a bit, but it’s a good step in the right direction. They have some nice wins in the bank, which other teams in better spots are still looking for. Can’t ignore that
Kansas State is now all the way up to 79 and ironically, as much as it pains me to say this…Iowa State benefits big time from them finishing in the top 75 and wiping away their ugly quad 3 loss. I think we all can agree that seems pretty likely now. They still have hope if they can stay hot. You can climb fast in this league quicker than you can fall. The key is stringing together Ws.
Cincinnati its still holding on for dear life at 51. Finally got their first quad 1 win last night. They aren’t legally pronounced dead yet, but they are on life support and the priest has entered the building. They lost one of their more dynamic players in Mitchell.
BYU is sitting pretty at 35, up from the more questionable 40s. But their resume still has them WAY below their metrics. 2-5 and 3-2 in the games that matter, respectively. Need to protect home court, against the big boys too. Easier said than done in this conference, but that’s where bubble teams need to make their hay.
Ha. I know nothing about good w the ladies. You lost me there… not touching.
I’ll keep it easy n stick w fav player-- L.J. Cryer. Man don’t get enough credit for his defense when he chases the other teams Shooting guard majority of gms.
