I somewhat agree, but pre 2010 displayed the greatest OU and Texas teams to ever live. Vince Young, Adrian Peterson, Cedric Benson, Jamaal Charles, Jason White, Sam Bradford, and Colt McCoy. Of course those 7-8 years were lopsided. They were putting up 70 points on people back then.
As a BYU fan I dislike east west divisions because I donât want to play the Pac 12 schools regularly. I want to play the big 12 schools regularly with a little pac 12.
Iowa state, Kansas, Texas tech > Arizona
K - State, baylor, West Virginia > Arizona State
Oklahoma state, TCU, Colorado > Utah
In an east west split BYU will always play Arizona, ASU, and Utah.
The conference ironically dives perfectly north and south across the bible belt
With Texas Tech and Cinci loss, Colorado and TCU with the puncherâs chance, although, TCU and Colorado have no head to heads with Kansas State, Iowa State, or BYU.
Cinci almost has the best puncherâs chance with a head to head with Kansas State and Iowa State, despite losing to Colorado. Been a real treat to watch two undefeateds this far along into the Big 12 season.
With KSU and BYU still left on the schedule, I canât believe UH still theoretically has a shot at the title
Will it happen no but itâs still something to cling for
I have been thrilled to see us climb the ranks! Iâm pulling for UH to finish top 8! Pull off an upset vs KSU or BYU and we can make a bowl.
Aside from BYU and maybe ISU⊠this conference this year is not good at all
Pretty subjective, Big 12 has two dominant undefeateds, and one could say the cannibalistic nature of the Big 12 means its competitive? Latest projections has the Big 12 as a two bid league
This.
There are a couple people that keep repeating the mantra that the Big 12 sucks. It is not true. The SEC has room for a couple more T-shirt fans for them.
The Big 12 may not have totally dominant teams this year, but it is a far cry from sucks (very good, good, and average all fit in between sucks and not sucks). If the UH-Utah teams were wearing Alabama and Auburn uniforms, all we would hear is how great a defensive struggle the game was.
Last place team in the Big 12 beat the 7th place SEC team based on todayâs standings.
Honorable mention
with 274 all purpose yards and 3 TDs with 1,091 All purpose on the season. Young man is a treat to watch for Arizona State.
BYU continues to have a straight shot to the Big 12 championship, couple more weeks of chaos left! I have now upgraded Colorado and Texas Tech to puncherâs chance, but unfortunately for Colorado and Texas Tech, they no head to heads with the top 4 in the final 3 weeks. Coloradoâs and Techâs fate entirely relies on chaos.
Cinci still almost holdâs their fate in their own hands despite being 3-2 in the conference, as they play KSU and ISU, but are going to need a loss from Colorado and Texas Tech.
ASU is the interesting one, as they play KSU and BYU, with some severe chaos ASU could find themselves in the Big 12 championship game.
So of the teams that have played 3 ranked teams, we and Zona are the only ones with wins. And we play next week.
Next three weeks are going to be a blast in college football!
For UH to make it to the championship:
- UH must win out
- Iowa State needs to lose 2 of 4 remaining games (Kansas, Cincy, Utah, Kansas State)
- Colorado needs to lose 2 of 4 remaining games (Texas Tech, Utah, Kansas, Oklahoma State)
- Kansas State needs to lose 1 of 3 remaining games (Arizona State, Cincy, Iowa State)
- Texas Tech must lose 1 of 3 remaining games (Colorado, Oklahoma State, WVU)
- Arizona State needs to lose to BYU
- Either Cincy or WVU needs to lose 2 more games depending on who wins between them next week. Who ever wins will need to lose 1 more game.
Bold are teams I think will win.
If UH somehow gets to the championship, it will most likely be a rematch with BYU (assuming they remain a undefeated until the final week)
Keep in mind. Big 12 tiebreakers isnât solely based on record as I understand it. Therefore, a 3 loss team could potentially get in over a 2 loss team. Itâs unlikely, but it is possible.
Hopefully happens before the game at UH
Sir you have Colorado losing and winning against tech! one of them has to lose. I donât see Utah or OSU winnning those. But Donât sleep on Cinci.
Whoops sorry, I highlighted the wrong one
I have Colorado beating Tech
We can only hope EFF TECH!
Even if Tech wins, I just donât see them winning out against WVU and Oklahoma State.
I refuse to believe that Oklahoma State goes winless. They nearly beat BYU, and they still have Colorado and Texas Tech left.
Thatâs the thing with this conference. Literally every single week is unpredictable. Colorado hasnât played anyone yet. Their toughest stretch is these last 4 weeks
We really need Utah, Kansas, Baylor and Oklahoma State to cause some real chaos.
