Big 12 / Pac 12 / B10 Expansion Thread (Part 1)

Why wouldn’t they? PAC still has more top media markets and top schools than B12.

I agree that exit fee will be prohibitive for any school to leave the big12. In which case, a few mountain west schools would do just fine for the pac. At least we agree on that part.

:billed_cap: They were around the same worth before USC and UCLA left, now they’re going to be a good $15-$25 million lower than the big 12 (excluding additions).

Mmmm……not really.

That’s the whole LA market down the drain.

Without that, their next media deal will surely be smaller than the Big 12.

You can forget about any P5 team including any Big 12 team going there.

Don’t forget enormous exit fees and 9pm CST game time.

The U. of Arizona has had budget issues due to its pitiful Football program.

The next Media deal will be lower that it is now.

Look for a Big 12 move.

I was not one of those people.

B12: stability, parity and solid fball, great basketball
PAC: football brands, better TV markets

ND is locked in the ACC through 2036. I think the agreements states that if they were to join a power conference it would be the AAC. Not too sure about the language.

I think that was true until this morning.

I think it is still true. BYU is a West Coast ideological pariah.

Look for ND to use its super massive endowment to buy their way out of that, and into the B1G where they belong.

They were? Are people forgetting that the B12 lost OU and UT?

$ can break contracts and often does. If moving to the BIG brings stability and enough money to offset a breach of contract, ND may do that.

There are no more rules anymore.

Nor was I.

I always said the Big 12 would raid the AAC.

I was right.

I was wrong on USC to the B1G though.

Big 12: number one in basketball and #3 in football.

PAC: was already #5 in both, and just got worse, also lost its biggest media market.

Pretty easy choice.

Question that nobody seems to be thinking about. What happens to the Rose Bowl. Does it remain a pac12 vs BIG matchup post 2024.

How about- “Nobody cares right now” ?

If the rest of the PAC stays together, it’ll probably remain as before.

If any other PAC teams leave, it could become a Big 12 vs Big 10 matchup.

The Rose Bowl? The Rose Bowl?

This is a new world in college football. Nobody cares about legacy bowls now. USC and UCLA about to get $100 mil.
