Basis for disdain for Taylor Swift is?

I think it’s all about how much you let a silly thing bother you. Complaining about things that haven’t happened yet, if you let it ruin your day or whatever good time you’re having that’s when it says something bad about you.

Similarly, if seeing 25 seconds of Taylor Swift makes you have to go on a Twitter rant or something like that, it’s a you problem not anyone else’s problem.

But she disagrees with my politics!

And it’s being forced down your throat !

All 25 seconds of her, on screen , spreading her agenda (without saying anything), during a 3.5 hour game. It’s disgusting. Unamerican. The networks are all in on it too, forcing this on us.

Oh hell. Why not?

Excerpt:
“This is a cropped image but she’s standing next to a ‘go vote’ sign, and actually celebrities, at least in the US, regularly will post pictures of themselves, encouraging people to go vote and this has a measurable effect on voter turnout.”

Back at Fox, Watters took that at least several steps further.

“Yeah, that’s real. Pentagon’s psyop unit pitched NATO on turning Taylor Swift into an asset for combatting misinformation online,” he said.

That has even forced the Pentagon to try to shut down claims Swift is an asset.

“As for this conspiracy theory, we are going to shake it off,” spokesperson Sabrina Singh said, according to Politico.

It’s not the first time there have been claims Swift is being used to encourage voters to swing left, or even the first time she has been deemed a psyop.

When Time named her “Person of the Year” in 2023, conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec referred to her as an asset of sorts in several tweets.

There is absolutely nothing political about this thread. Neither Taylor Swift nor Travis Kelce are running for anything or show no political leanings in their average of 25 seconds per game that Taylor is shown, or any of their commercials. It seems some people think just about everything is political.

Sure bro, you must not have read the entire thread.

I don’t have a hang up with it, lol.

He was funny especially his stories about his brother.

I don’t think they’re mad about Taylor swift physically being present at games, it’s just the fact that it’s very obvious the NFL is taking advantage of this. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship because Taylor gets exposure to the NFL market, and the NFL gets Swifties to watch football for higher ratings.

As far as the politics goes, well from the perspective of conservatives it’s pretty clear why they’re annoyed by this. Travis Kelce starred in both Bud Light and Pfizer commercials back to back, and now he’s dating Taylor Swift who’s the most popular human on the planet. I think many feel he’s just trying to enter the mainstream fame market (which I personally disagree and feel it’s all just coincidence)

That said, with the democrats hoping to get an endorsement form Taylor, it’s pretty obvious why there are people upset about this (with the crazies thinking it’s a Pentagon conspiracy)

It’s a mix of coincidence and/or annoyance depending on how you look at it. Overall, I think there is (and has been) a Taylor Swift fatigue building ever since the Eras Tour began. There’s been a clear push by every avenue of media to make her as popular as possible for their own benefit.

It’s just capitalism doing its job really (even before this became political)

It’s not obvious to me why someone would be annoyed because a celebrity that disagrees with them politically is getting attention for something unrelated to their politics.

Some are concerned with the goofiest things.
