As a Texan I VERY Concerned with this type of behavior

The problem is this mentality bleeds and has bled into the higher education system. We can ill afford to have just two super universities in Texas. We have the infrastructure for more not orange or maroon and its ok to give ALL Texas children an opportunity at a top flight education.

They may bleed just TV money now, but what’s stopping them from diverting taxpayer money into the football program in the future? They already showed they have no problem diverting taxpayer money into the hands of football boosters with tracts of unsellable real estate…

There is too much power in two universities in one of the largest states in the Union, one that is bigger than many countries.

It’s time to acknowledge the other great educational institutions of Texas and spread the power.

"Of course, a lot of the money being spent on the coaches will come indirectly from the deep pockets of the school’s alumni and boosters. In addition, this amounts still pale in comparison to the roughly $120 million in revenue the football generates annually."
If the school is raking in $120MM in revenues and he’s saying that the spending spree on coaches pales in comparison, is he hinting that the revenue could cover those cash outlays, hence boosters $$ not needed, or they need boosters because $120MM is merely revenue and not net profit from operations? Is there a loss at that revenue level? Don’t know what the point of the two figures is.

can someone tell me…what are the 46 Cougars in the TX legislature doing? This is an absurd behavior …give us our fair share of the PUF fund

It’s a good question for our PAC led by Welcome Wilson.

I do know they are fighting UT-Houston and I’ve heard that UT-Houston will be a tough sell.

I do know that a bill is being sponsored for more access to the PUF.

Everyone here, write your legislators. They are preparing for the next session now.

This is a stupid question but it’s my first time doing this. Do i write to Texas Board of Edu, Texas Rep, Tex Sen, or TX U.S Rep or Sen…

I would write all of them. I’d write your State Senator, State Representative, Governor & Lt. Governor, as well as the Texas Higher Education Board.
