Hard to screw up an introductory press conference, but I really liked Major’s approach. Very cerebral about football and he’s a no-nonsense type of guy. I think he has the potential to be a better head coach than he was as a coordinator.
About this time next year Major will be preparing his team for a NY6 game. And Tom Herman will realize he left his “Dream Job” in Houston.
He did mention Herman a couple of times and was complimentary. Mentioned Todd Graham and Mack Brown as well as those he wanted to thank. Saban was the only one he spent some time on when he was directly asked who influenced him the most, but mostly he focused on the program.
Agreed. Kind of ties back to that interview FoxSports did with him right after he got hired as OC where he said he was done trying to be the center of attention and the kids were more important. Also said it after the Peach Bowl last year.
No doubt the Big 12 has made a serious enemy here. As the song said, “Don’t tug on Superman’s cape.” Well, they did that and a whole lot more and he has no fear of calling them out.
