How do you break the news to Orlando “well ummm if you are planning on working somewhere else, we don’t need to talking to recruits this week.”
Ya but if youre Orlando, how do you walk away from coaching Ed Oliver? With a chance of recruiting Chaisson? Why leave this amazing defense?
Would we offer him the same pay as UT or whatever other school needs a DC? If so, those are strong reasons to stay.
“Going to bring an entertaining brand of football” - Major
I think if Applewhite offers the North Shore coach a position, that Chaisson.
After the bowl game? GAH I cant wait that long! haha
“We have always had a winning program”
“From Coach Yeoman to Coach Briles to Coach Sumlin to Coach Herman”
Tilman calls out Baylor for getting into the Big 12 through politicians, lol. Love it.
I love his anti-Big12 attitude post the snub
Duarte’s periscope lagging. Any other ways to watch?
doh … well at least i can rewatch it on periscope without lag maybe … thanks though
I watched it on Roku with the College Sports Live app.
I missed the introduction, but just re-watched it. Major looks a little startled a few seconds before he realizes it’s going to be Ward.
The thing that struck me the most was when he answered which coach influenced him the most. He mentioned Saban first.
He might have mentioned Saban first because he was making up for not mentioning him a few questions before where he mentioned Herman, Brown and Graham.
Couldn’t call it up – any suggestions?
Solid press conference. Liked how he said 9-3 is not acceptable and his comments about building player and recruit trust. I know our previous coach said that all the time, but it’s nice for Major to at least acknowledge it.
Also thought it was a shock that he mentioned Saban as the biggest influence; was expecting Mack Brown there.
Did he praise, or comment on, Herman much? Saban plug could be true but he’s also a CFB legend and consensus #1 at the moment.
I think his key words in the recruiting statement is that he said that he doesn’t want to show value in the coaches. In this day and ages coaches come and go. He wants the recruits to see the value in the things that are permanent. To be part of UH community and get a UH education. I think he appreciates the Houston recruits making their own show of solidarity with the BandofBrothers hashtag and wants to make an example of how they are committed to the University and not the coaches.
