Now name your biggest meltdown?
That was funny! He immediately knew he F$#%ED up! Lol
Destroying property is such a waste.
Mine was the 2011 CUSA championship game. Sat there in stunned silence with my dad and son as everyone filed out; my dad prodding me to leave and I just couldn’t get up. Finally got up and trudged back to my car with a couple of different groups yelling out to us that Sumlin was going to A&M on the way back. Drove home in silence. Went out back and just yelled as loud as I could before just sitting there for a half hour in stunned silence.
Got over it, went to the Ticket City Bowl and had a blast.
This is what came to mind for me. I was physically nauseous. I honestly thought I was going to throw up. I felt like I had been kicked in the nuts. I had never had that extreme of physical symptoms as the result of a loss before or since. Undefeated season, BCS bowl, conference title, cementing Keenum’s legacy. Scumlin…
Alabama fan has no idea of the pain endured by this Cougar fan.
mine was when we lost the national championship game to NC during the PSJ era. nothing has hurt that much since.
Losing the Final game with Lewis’s “big bunch” to - I believe Southwest La. - was painful. With Dunbar as guard that was a Final Four team.
Then there was the loss to Notre Dame. A real shocker.
Oh, and Birdsong’s team’s loss in the finals of the NIT.
I could go on. There have been many great wins for both football and basketball for UH. But there have been many dark days as well. None were darker than the announcement that UT, A&M, Tech, and Baylor - Baylor , for God sake - were joining the Big 8. And UH was being left behind. That one really hurt, more than all the rest combined from my perspective.
Bottom line, you need thick skin to be a Cougar fan. Strangely, Herman’s leaving and all the crap that went into it, didn’t bother me nearly as much as the screwing Sumlin put on us. That betrayal really set the program back. I’m sure that means something.
Did you see how big that Trailer’s Living Room was?
Yep, that one hurt quite a bit.
If I could only give you more likes for that comment.
Loss to NC State in New Mexico. Loss to UCLA while Drexler and Hayes were here. I agree with the Notre Dame loss. These are the memorable lost games to me . . . . .
I wouldn’t be too critical of him. He’s from Alabama, they don’t have much else to be proud of in that state.
