22-23 Schedule Speculation, Confirmation, etc

Yes it is.

they are only ranked 40spots lower than hofstraā€¦ and return literally everyone including their conference POY. the returning experience will probably have them at hofstra level next yearā€¦we needed a game typing shot and miss from them to send it to OT, a game where hofstraā€™s best player didnā€™t play

but i love the confidence of the fanbase, where saying weā€™ll beat them and probably comfortably, but this isnā€™t some auto win, where simply showing up automatically guarantees a winā€¦is seen as a knock

+20 or moreā€¦ā€¦ donā€™t care who is back for them.

Agree to disagree on this one.

Think about it Pesikā€¦ā€¦ if the win their conference and the fellas do what they do for usā€¦ā€¦ this is a 16ā€“1 matchup in the tournamentā€¦ā€¦ what are the spreads in 1/16 games? 20 +.

Please donā€™t try and convince me they are a 13 seedā€¦. They are maybe a hair better than Bryant from last year.

If we get a 6ā€™10" big is it an auto win?

upsets are a thing in the sportā€¦ they dont remotely stack up to usā€¦but shooting changes night to night

except for last year i think weā€™ve had a bad upset every single yearā€¦ and even last year we barely survived teams that were equivalent to in kenpom to norfolk like Tulsa, who we beat by 2 ā€¦we needed a miracle to beat hofstra without its best playerā€¦

there are some teams that i think we beat no matter how bad we playā€¦ i donā€™t think norfolk is in that categoryā€¦ they played Wichita close last year, and will be better next yearā€¦ we play terribly i think itā€™ll be closeā€¦ but yes we absolutely destroy them on an average game

Yeah, lets play NC State so ESPN can play up that 40th anniversary angle to death. :face_vomiting:

ā€œautomaticā€ has more to do with them than usā€¦ you cant call any game versus teams over a certain level as automatic no matter how good you areā€¦its the nature of the sport

tulsa will be bad, but they are good enough that you can call any games against them pregame as automatic pre gameā€¦

and the 6ā€™10 thing is probably a joke, but a 6ā€™10 bigs, or general size is the ā€œedgeā€ the high majors majors have over mid majors. most mid major do not have quality sizeā€¦

I just saw the opportunity to make a joke and seized it. I understand what you were saying and agree. All one has to do is watch last years March Madness to understand how dangerous that type of thinking can be.

They do that every March anyway. May as well get something out of it.

And what do we get out of it? NC State sucks right now. Weā€™re not San Francisco minus their fluke season last year, Phi Slama Jama (and the Big Eā€™s Game of the Century) gets plenty of publicity regardless of who we play and we have a first class program currently.

That said, I wouldnā€™t mind a game against them toward the end of the 50th anniversary season in a decade. Itā€™s historically significant, unfortunately.

Ok.

Im not saying NCST is the first school im calling but if weā€™re not playing a MTE then we need to beef up the schedule.

Iā€™m not going to waste time worrying about Norfolk St. Uhhā€¦thatā€™ll be a Cougar win.

Sorry.

But UH versus any MEAC opponent is an auto win. A bona fide SURE THING.

Houston - UCF matchup priority?

Yuck!

Would much rather play BYUā€¦or even Iowa State.

I think we got the short end of the stick. Cause geographically, nobody is close to UCF.

So, what unlucky school gets partnered with them.

I think theyā€™re the worst basketball program of the 14 schools. Alot of potential, but. Every school in the Big 12 since 2000, has had a period of success. Except for TCU and UCF, to be honest.

Fire Dawkins please and maybe UCF has a chance

Iā€™d put the Eastern time zone schools (Cincy, WVu, and UCF) together in one grouping.

UH, TCU, and Baylor in another.

BYU could join Iowa State and Tech.

Okie State, Kansas, and Kansas State

DONE!!!
