Why is he jumping ship already? They don’t even know who they new coach will be. I wish him success just not here. I need my dream about Russel Tchewa on this basketball team to become reality

You answered your own question. He can always leave the portal if they make a hire who is a good fit, but waiting around for that to happen doesn’t benefit him at all.

Yep. With NIL and the portal, these guys are basically allowed to test the free agency market now. Offers can be used to negotiate better deals.
Remember before this season there was a story that Aimaq wanted to transfer because he felt TT was rushing him back from injury? Then the story went away. Cough cough…hush money paid…cough, cough.
Could be how they handled the injury, could be how they used him, could be the coach, could be the coach’s comments that got the coach suspended, heck, Aimaq could be treating NILs like I treat my car insurance. I shop it every year for the best deal.

I think that was in late December. One of the stories floating around was that the NIL money stopped because the head coach had alienated the donors who were funding most of it. That program was a dumpster fire leading up to and following their trip to Hawaii.
I have only seen him play a couple of times….but I have a similar opinion….I don’t see the fit here.
I just don’t think he is athletic enough or have enough dog in him to be UH worthy.

ECU plays USF at 11:30am today.
If USF loses, typically its about a day, 2 days, before guys will enter the portal after their season ends
Aimaq, for Tech was unusual. Team lost, and immediately his name was in there
I will speak it into existence. Kelvin will see me mentioning it and decide to convince Tchewa to transfer

His feet defensively seem a little slow. Even if he was in better shape.
This would also be his 4th school. A little bit of a red flag for me (Mercer, Utah Valley, Texas Tech)
Mylik Wilson transferred x2. But we also recruited him out of high school. So different situation

I wouldn’t mind Sampson going after a big center IF another player transfers out. At this point we have no idea if Walker plans to stay or go.
IF another roster spot opens up I would prefer Sampson go after an athletic 6’9"-6’10" guy that can shoot the 3. Someone in the mold of Hendricks at UCF. Tall enough to play interior defense and rebound while being able to step outside on the perimeter.
It’s my opinion that we already enough interior players, but most lack perimeter shooting. Francis will back up Roberts, and one of the freshmen will contribute, most likely Tugler to man the middle. If Lath and McGarland play they will most likely play in the middle, although I read somewhere McFarland might prefer playing on the perimeter.
On the perimeter we have Sharp, TA, Walker, and Wilson to go along with true freshman Jefferson. Sharp looks to be a great shooter, but doesn’t have handles like Sasser. Wilson and Jefferson are unproven. And as much as I love the potential in Arcenaux, I personally think he has a long ways to go before he gets significant minutes. Getting stronger and more confident need to be offseason priorities.
