I also think it’s wild that we are already talking about the transfer portal for next year, but here we are in modern college basketball. Coaches really are having to recruit everybody, even during the season. Many of these guys have already committed to their team for next year. Again, wild.
Also, concerning R. Walker, I don’t think he is going to transfer. I really do believe that he is dealing with personal stuff right now and just needs to be away from basketball to hopefully get right in his life. We’ve all noticed that he looks like a different player this year, and not in a good way. Whatever is going on, I am glad we have a program that supports its people through everything.
You’re absolutely right about Mills, but that doesn’t mean that Ramon will react the same way. There could be something personal though that he comes to grips with and Houston will still be best for him.
I, too, hope Ramon can deal with whatever the current issues are and make a return to the team. Love his motor and energy. With some development of an improved outside shot, I think he can be a major contributor to our program.
Nah, the word with Mills (iirc) was that he was taking time off to visit his family back home in North Carolina because he was feeling homesick.
I thought it was odd when that was the reason given for his absence, but he had been dealing with an injury a couple of games prior, and I could see how a 18/19 yr old Freshman from an entirely different state could become homesick. So I didn’t think much of it at the time.

I look at this roster. Very versatile. Just missing a bruiser inside, in my opinion.
Need another knockdown 3pt shooter (Arceneaux and/or Mark) some on the roster, to continue to develop in this area.
Tramon is better. But we’re also gonna face some elite offenses next season. Where more 3pt shooting threats on the floor would be great for us.
Mark & Shead are on pace for making less than (50) threes for the year. For a point guard, ok. For a starting wing, youd like to see more.
Armoni & Corey, that season together, each made (100) threes. Having (2) 3pt makers on the floor, made scoring in transition alot easier. It can make half court offense easier, with more spacing
Looking at our stats, i think we need to get Ryan Elvin more in the mix. One 3-pointer for every 10 minutes. Put him in for 30 minutes, over a season it’s over 100 3 pointers.
Shead and Mark will be solid shooters if they return next season.
Why ??
Because they’ll be in their 4th year in college under the tutelage of CKS and staff. If Galen Robinson the3rd made himself into a decent shooter so will these cats.
A name to throw out there i can definitely see us getting is Tchewa. He will be a sr next year. He’s a great rebounder and has really worked on his game. Sampson spoke highly of him. Tchewa probably wants to play in the tournament at some point he has out grown USF, and going into his last year he will probably want to make it count, a lot of big school would want him. I could definitely see it
