Francis made big strides last season so I am not even thinking of portal at this time with him.
The whole foul thing has been over low and looking forward to seeing what he will bring to the table.
I truly hope he is getting better because you can’t show me a game against a decent team where he was a contributor on the positive side.
He had a really good stretch before and maybe at the beginning of conference season.
He progressed significantly. He didn’t have the luxury of playing through his learning curve because we had a veteran team. However he earned his initial time.
I believe the pre-conference season will be key for Francis. There tends to be a bit of “referee bias” for being tight with the calls with younger/newer players that haven’t played a lot of minutes before. Roberts experienced this early on too. But if Francis gets the minutes starting the season, I think he’ll begin to get the benefit of the doubt on calls after Coach Sampson has had a number of games to work the officials on that front.
But honestly, it’s up to Francis to earn those minutes. Even back half of last season where coach gave him a few minutes to earn more playing time, he could be a bit “invisible” by missing out on a rebound or getting faked out on a block attempt and fouling quickly. He’ll get more opportunities this year, but he’s got to do a better job of taking advantage of them imo.
Mylik was injured earlier this week.
4 to 6 weeks
Hopefully he starts doing and contributing to the team in key games because every game in the Big 12 will be key.
Hoping he develops a hook shot in the lane so he can have some offensive presence.
Hoping
Love it, that’s a hallmark of our program !!!
I hope he breaks it out big. I was more excited about him a year ago than Sharp or Walker. I hope he lives up to the hype his Sophomore year because we all saw him start vs Memphis and he looked like a “deer in the headlights”.
His arms are ridiculously long. Jesus
Not just his arms but look how big his hands are… Put that together with his frame and athleticism and knows how to run plays/rotations on defense. He’ll start sooner than later thats for sure.
Would be great to see Arceneaux have that breakout year
imo the hope for a title next year, hinges on arcneuax big jump… and a lethal 4 guard lineup… (their is a ceiling with the no offense 4/5)… but if Arceneaux takes a big leap and take up a Jordan Miller (from miami) 4 type role --{context was just a tall guard who played the 4 for miami)…
we could be miami with defense …and a better PG
nijel pack - lj cryer
Isaiah Wong - Emmanuel sharp
Norchad Omier - jwan roberts
Jordan Miller - terrance arcenuex
Wooga Poplar - jamal shead
its not a 1 to 1 match but its actually very similar in roles…cryer/pack shooters, wong./sharp scorers, omier/roberts rebounding, miller/arceanueax versatile scoring , poplar/shead defense… …
