So many of us had written Tune off. He turned the switch on during the 2nd half vs Navy.
Not as many as you might think.
A few dropped passes after a successful catch and immediately being tackled and losing the ball. (Failure to quickly secure the ball after a catch or part of the game?)
What rankings are these?
ESPN Power Rankings
Thanks
Auburn, NCSt, and Purdue lost.
Arkansas, SDSt, Iowa and UTSA with squeakers over unranked teams.
CFP will rank us this week. Hopefully above aggy.
In other news, UT will be back , to preseason rankings next year after finishing 4-8.
I hope you’re right Johnny. I’m not sure how much we’ll move up in the AP or Coaches poll, but I’m hopeful too that we’ll squeak in to the CFP poll. I don’t know if we’ll get in above A&M though.
No doubt. I expect a pre-season ranking around 15.
That’s the problem. Pre-season is based on the previous year and incoming new players. Given their ability to recruit and entice players to transfer in just goes to show you how badly they under-perform.
I’m sure the SEC is just licking their chops.
As far as polls, I’m thinking we move up may one or two spots in the AP/Coaches polls. Baylor jumps us, we might pass the aggies. But, in looking at the polls, there was a big gap from 16 to 15. While we might not make 15, I think the gap will close between 15-16…
As far as the CFP, I think we show up at 23 or 24.
Where do y’all think we would be ranked if we don’t meltdown vs tech in 2nd half …I’d say around 10…
I felt like the hit he took on the TD pass to Marcus Jones against Navy was a turning point. All the fear he had of getting hit in the pocket was relieved. He knew he can take a hit at that point.
I think you’re right- maybe as high as 10th in the AP and Coaches, and top 15 in the CFP.
Please tell me what it is like to live free of cynicism and pessimism.
Lol
I wrote him off but geez this turnaround has been crazy. He’s probably one of the most efficient QB’s in college football right now. I’ll eat my crow, and enjoy it too!!
Prime example of patience, as you guys see with OU and UT - pulling QBs left and right doesn’t work out so well
No there was a lot. I heard many times during tailgates and read plenty on this forum and others. I do not know if you were watching the same games we were in the beginning of the year but many doubted Tune. I’m glad he flipped the switch because he is doing well and so are our Coogs. Go Coogs!!!
I watch or attend every game I can since 1972. I dont miss many.
I felt all along Tune had plenty of potential and it was just a matter of time. He just needed more help from the O line and receivers. It is a team after all.
One could either doubt or have faith. The faithful saw what was coming.
