So is it official on the Oline coach?
As I type that I remember that the title is “official” coaching thread
Lol yes, this is a forum, the only thing official about these are the thread titles , not the information in them! Lol
It is the official thread to post about coaching hire not a thread about offices of coaching hires.
According to FootballScoop, A.J. Ricker and A.J. Blum are joining the staff, presumably OL and DL.

I wonder if Kendall Briles is up for consideration as OC. He would be a great recruiter and a talented OC.
The NCAA Committee on Infractions issued a report Wednesday detailing prior rules violations committed by Baylor assistant football coaches Kendal Briles and Tate Wallis.
Casey at TE would be a solid hire. Pope has loads of experience and I don’t think how our RBs were utilized at times should completely fall on him.
I think that very little of it falls on Pope.
Yup. Catalon can bust through the line but seemed better when he got into space. If there was one offensive thing of note of Herman/Applewhite era is the stubbornness of running up the middle no matter what.
Johnson would be an interesting target, no obvious connection aside from being born in Baytown. At a minimum would have to give co-OC title
I think Catalon is going to be a great back if we can put together even a half-way decent O line. Running up the middle or off tackle requires offensive linemen who can move defensive linemen. Our guys couldn’t move anyone this year. And other than Chance Allen, our WRs were terrible blockers on the outside, which made our jet sweeps and screens completely ineffective. I’m hoping the next staff places a strong emphasis on blocking technique.
On a slightly different note, what happened to Dillon Birden? He got 6 total carries over the last 3 games before the bowl game and didn’t play at all in the bowl game. Was he hurt?
Was wondering that too when Brandon Wilson was playing RB in the bowl game.
We were playing a defense base package with three DBs (H. Wilson, Williams, and Davis) since SDSU ran so much. Brandon Wilson flipped to offense. I guess they felt he could do more damage there.
We need a good S&C coach. Our O-Line was too weak to push anyone around. Catalon is a good back.
Another one from Football Scoop, TCU Asst. Director of Football Operations Nelly Gonzalez will join UH as Director of Internal Football Operations, filling the spot vacated by Tory Teykl’s departure to Austin.
I’m reminded of an old (maybe SWC) football broadcaster’s comment when something exciting happened during the game - “Whoa Nelly!”
Sports Trivia for $100 - Who was it that said that? I’m dating myself because it had to be back in the '60’s.
That was Keith Jackson. He was a good one.
