Absolutely :100:

We are not a school out in the boonies that is a traditional college town.

We are a college in a great city….” For the City”.

A beautiful ode to the Oilers who were the heart and soul of Houston….

Represent the “H”.

I think they’re kind of cool.

And if you don’t like them, remember that it’s just for one game.

This is a horrible take….one, we are a University in one of the most amazing cities in the country.

So to compare to Michigan from Ann Arbor is silly….

Miami? Okay , that’s fair….but do we have to wait for other schools to do something first?

Why not be a trend setter?

I guarantee other schools will follow suit in the future.

Clearly, some of you youngsters " Coach Yeoman" speak do not remember that the Houston Oilers used to play in the Old Robertson aka Jeppesen stadium and in fact won a AFL Championship there as well in the 60’s- just a fun fact and a connection to the team. I used to go to the games as a kid- George Blanda, Billy Cannon, Charlie Hennigan!

Understand…I will definitely wear my Houston Oilers gear on Saturday!

How are we appealing to casual Houston fans that ARE NOT on UH social media, most of Houston people have no idea when we even play, TV ads, radio? I’m just asking, everyone on here thinks the city is on UH social feeds, I guarantee you this is not the case
