tennessee is the only team left with any cache/hype …if they pull out, we need to start looking at potential other tourneys

Idk what everyone has returning/incoming but Seton Hall was 15th in the final polls last year and Penn State was in “others receiving votes” and would have been a single digit seed. VCU was an NIT caliber team.
We just have to take whatever games we can keep or get. By all accounts it is a complete cluster &(*^ right now trying to get games locked in for everyone.
seton hall has been carried for the last 2 season by all-american myles powell…he’s gone…seton hall isnt a good recruiting team and basing their rebuild on mid-major transfers.
vcu is not projected to be good at all but they do have a player getting draft hype… projected bottom half of a-10…penn state lost a lot in a not great team…none are projected to make the tourney
dont get me wrong, all of those teams are probably all top 70 teams…but none of them are going to push anything if we start talking wanting a high tourney seed… us, Tennessee and Florida state were supposed to be the big dogs, Oklahoma state the sleeper with a top 2 draft pick
Once reality set in - maybe the holiday tournament locally will be the only way to get in games.
I don’t get pulling out. Teams in major conferences are really that afraid of challenging out of conference games this season?.
I think we should honor our commitment matter who quits.
Just get out before everyone else does.
Wonderful. Basketball season already feels like football season. I’m ready to erase 2020 from the memory banks.
Sounds like that tournament is history
So, are these teams pulling out out of fear of Covid with many teams in one arena…and thus possibly affecting the rest of their season ?
Guess I would understand that, but maybe scheduling some of these teams for just home games is possible ?
Maybe Baylor is available …He He !!!
Sign a non binding contract with them!
The Charleston Classic in Orlando. Makes all the sense in the world to me.
Holding onto SC, Bama and the tourney w/ Tennessee with all our might … sos hanging on by a thread
Wonder if there will be a small MTE in Houston if the Charleston classic in Orlando loses more teams?
Well there goes that. Basketball is already becoming football. The stupid thing is they would’ve been in a bubble so it would’ve been fine for Charleston. In LSU case these teams are scared to play outside of their conference for fear of missing the tournament. There’s no incentive to play outside your conference when that’s all you need because of bias.
Hmmmmm…what does that mean for UH?
