Wonder why the last game against Memphis in Memphis is TBA as to the date ?

Notice on this schedule, they don’t even include the last game at Memphis.

They show it at the bottom with a TBD date when you select “print” at the top. It’s at Memphis and depending on rankings and other factors, I imagine the TV folks are hold that one.

The TBA thing is confusing , because when I downloaded the updated UH football schedule from ESPN it says the 12/12 UH vs Memphis is a 11am kickoff, yet the UH website says TBA, so who knows about the actual start time to some of these games will be especiall with basketball due to the mixed info being shown between different intities.

3 days till game day…time to talk about game 1?

from what i can tell about lamar:

  • A really undersized team- 2 sub 6ft guards likely to get 25mins+, no big weighs more than 220lbs, only one taller than 6’8
  • overall defensive numbers are not good…but one guard really good at steals
  • will shoot a flame throwers amount of 3s, 2 of the 3 players that carry their offense almost exclusvely shoot 3s
  • fun fact- one of those 2 players is anderson kopp, brother of incoming qb commit maddox kopp…they also have 2 older brothers; miller a 4star bball player at northwestern, that had a houston offer, and braden a Oline at Vandy)
  • lots of new juco but nothing notworthy
  • they play tulane 2 days after us, which could be a guage to see how much better or worse tulane has gotten

When I surveyed their roster it seems they lost there big producer from the backcourt last season.

This will be a good chance to see where we are as far as rotations and getting everyone some early season PT.
Like the fact we will be playing our second game on Friday and will be the opener for BSU.

This should almost be considered a de facto exhibition game as they were 254 @ Kenpom at the end of the year. 234 defensive and 267 offensive efficiency. They play uptempo so it should be a good test to see if we are going to play faster this year.

What? I thought for sure that Jarron Cumberland would be back for his 8th year.

Been watching highlights from last year and I’m calling it now. Sasser will have a game this year where he hits 8 threes. Book it!

8 ??? Okay… I like it!

I want to see that kid shine so badly. And I believe that he will take the next step in his development and surprise some folks.

Last year he had 2 games with 5 threes and one game with 6…as a true freshman. He’s only going to be more confident and have more chances this year. 8 is a lot, but not a complete stretch of the imagination for him.

With more overall team depth, that (8 threes from any 1 player) may not be that important to CKS.

Oh, it’s 100% not important to CKS. He has never cared about numbers. But he also showed on multiple occasions last year that he’s willing to feed the hot hand. It happened a few times with Caleb, but notably with Sasser in the OT loss to SMU.

It is not a matter of it being important to coach. If his offense is that good in any 1 game he will play a lot of minutes. I think 4-6 will be common for him.

I haven’t seen the box score, but Sasser may have had 8 threes today. He had around 27 points or so. Very good day for Marcus.

He had 7 threes.
